Jean Carper, 3827 Spruce Creek Rd., Spruce Creek has gone to be with the Lord. Mrs. Carper died Sunday, July 25, 2004 at her residence in Franklinville. She was born on February 26, 1928 in Bellwood, the daughter of Beulah Mae (French) Nelson and William Edgar Nelson. On January 19, 1946 she married the late Robert E. Carper who passed away on July 23, 2000. Surviving is one daughter, Connie Sue Jensen of Bloomington, Minn.; three sons, Robert E. Carper, Jr. of Port Matilda, Leroy Dean Carper of Franklinville and Alan E. Carper of Tyrone; 10 granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Beulah Mae Price of Danville and Betty Emma Miller of Bellwood and one brother, Edgar Dean Nelson of Spruce Creek. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Mrs. Carper was a member of the United Methodist Church in Warriors Mark. She was involved with the Huntingdon County Sunday School Association, Huntingdon County Republican Party, Blair County Open Heart Club, Warriors Mark Grange 974, where she was a member of the Seventh Degree Club, Franklin Township Committee person and a member of the Dutch Treat Dinner Club. Mrs. Carper had been employed at PSU and later as a representative of the PA State Lottery, from which she retired. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 30, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Warriors Mark United Methodist Church. Rev. Dr. Theodore E. Kiffer, Hospice Chaplain will officiate. Friends will be received at the Bruce E. Cox Funeral Home on Thursday, July 29 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and also on Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
