CARPER Earl LeRoy Carper, Pennsylvania Furnace, died Sunday at 2:05 a.m. in the Centre County Hospital, Bellefonte. He was born April 17, 1927 at Eden Hill, a son of Edward B. and Ruth Soyster Carper. On Nov. 6, 1954 he was married to Mary Catherine Harpster. Surviving are the widow, his father, a daughter, Judy, and two sons, Edward and Roland, all at home; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Melvin H. Brown, Robert E. Carper, Gilbert L. Carper, Mrs. Calvin W. Miller, all of Franklinville; Mrs. Hugh Confer, Orviston; Mrs. Robert S. Jones, York; Mrs. Wilbur Baughman, Warriors Mark. He was an engineering aide at Ordnance Research Laboratory, Pennsylvania State University. He was a member and a trustee of the Upper Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church, and was a veteran of the Korean conflict. Funeral service will be held from the Upper Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in charge of the Rev. T. T. Moore. Burial will be in Graysville Cemetery, Friends will be received Koch Funeral Home, State College, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the Centre County Heart Association.
