Coder, residing on a farm in Union township about one mile from Mapleton, died at 12 o'clock noon on Saturday from a stroke of paralysis which the [she] sustained upon starting to do a wash that morning. She was aged about 53, and was a sister of the late editor I. N. Swope, of the Item. Surviving sisters are Mrs. Frank Godard, and Mrs. T. M. Wood, of that place, together with the husband, five daughters and three sons. Mrs. Coder was the esteemed woman milk supplier to Mapleton for over twenty years. Funeral arrangements could not be secured in time for publication.
