Those Who Have Crossed the Dark River. MR. J. W. COGAN. Mr. J. W. Cogan, after an illness of about two weeks, died at his residence, on Seventh street, early on Friday morning, of hemorrhage of the bowels, in the 35th year of his age. For a number of years deceased held the position of local freight conductor on the H. & B.T.R.R., and by his strict attention to duty and his kindness of manger, had won the confidence and esteem of his employers, and the respect and friendship of his fellow employes. He was an active member of the Independent Hook and Ladder Company, and as a tribute to his memory the larger part of the entire fire department of the city attended his funeral in a body. A wife and two children survive him. The Huntingdon Journal, Huntingdon, Pa., Friday, August 5, 1887
