All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm __________________________________________ Mrs. Bessie White Colby Mrs. Bessie White Colby, 75, of Love Valley, Shirleysburg, R.D., wife of a former hotel operator in Huntingdon County, passed away Sunday, April 17, 1955, at 9 a.m. at her home after an illness of two and one- half years. The deceased was born August 23, 1879, at Harmony, Butler County, a daughter of Jacob and Susan (Zeigler) Enslen. She was twice married, the first one being to Charles White of Pittsburgh. He preceded her in death in 1942. The second marriage was to George I. Colby of Greensburg. Mrs. Colby was a member of the First Reformed Church of Harmony and the Greensburg Lodge of Maccabees. Colby was the operator of the Mountain House Hotel in Robertsdale and later the Eagle Hotel in Orbisonia for a number of years. Her second husband and two children, Mrs. Robert (Mary Alice) Townsley of Shirleysburg and Charles H. White of Zelienople, survive. Seven grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren and the following brother and sisters also survive: Russell Enslen of Hobart, Indiana, Mrs. Floyd G. Wiser of Harmony and Mrs. Eva Weils of New Castle. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, at 3:45 p.m. in the Zeigler funeral home in Harmony. Interment will be made at Harmony.
