"Chip" Corrie, Sr., 90, formerly of Orbisonia, and more recently of Green Ridge Village, Swaim Center, Newville, died at 8:20 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center, Carlisle. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 28 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with Rev. Ed Seely officiating. Interment was made at the IOOF Memorial Cemetery. Rockhill Furnace. He was born June 13, 1916 at Rockhill Furnace, he was the son of the late Hilton C. and Ethel A. (Chilcote) Corrie. he was married to the former Freda Mae Gutshall on August 20, 1938 at Baltimore, Md. Mrs. Corrie preceded in death November 27, 1975. Mr. Corrie is surviving by the following children: Bonnie Hiles and husband Nin of Orbisonia; Peggy Colyer and husband Ronald of Carlisle; Fredda Hancock and husband Thomas of RD, Shirleysburg and George Corrie, jr. and wife Pattie fo Blacklog Valley. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Corrie owned and operated the Eagle Hotel in Orbisonia for over 40 years. Prior to that he was employed by the Pennsylvania Rialroad int he Pitcairn yard. He was of the Protestant faith. he was an avid golfer belonging to the Mount Union American Legion Country Club.
