Isabel Corson, 81, of Mount Union, R.D. 1, at 12:50 a.m. died Aug. 12, 1988, at the Woodland Retirement Center in Orbisonia. She was born in Mount Union on Dec. 6, 1906, to Luden K. and Essie (Lamberson) Chilcote. She married John William Corson on June 16, 1928, in Mifflintown. He preceded her in death in 1958. Mrs. Corson is survived by a son, John Chilcote Corson of Shirleysburg, a sister, Mrs. Phyllis Steiner of Sebring, Fla. and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Christine Burkholder. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Mount Union, the Mount Union Music Club, the Shakespeare Club, Huntingdon County Friends of the Library and the Oberlin Music Conservatory. During her life she was employed as a Librarian at Ann H. Ross Library, Lock Haven. In her early years, she was employed by Saxe's Department Store, Mount Union and Saxe's Department Store, Lock Haven, where she was the manager. Funeral arrangements will be held on Sunday, Aug. 14, at the convenience of the family in the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. The Rev. Elaine Africa will officiate. Interment will be made in the Orbisonia Cemetery. There will not be public visitation. Memorial contributions are asked to be sent to The United Presbyterian Church in Mount Union.
