DIED - At the late residence of his father, in West township, on Tuesday, the 18th instant, James Crawford, Esq. Death is no respecter of persons. Few of the victims of that ruthless messenger, leave us more regretted than Col. James Crawford. Of amiable and gentlemanly deportment, he lived beloved and respected by all who enjoyed the pleasure of his acquaintance. Educated for the bar, had he lived he could not have failed to have alone honor to himself and his profession. The fell destroyer marked him for his own; and in the prime of manhood, he was summoned to that bourn whence no traveler returns. As he lived beloved and respected, he has died regretted and mourned, by a numerous circle of friends. Huntingdon Journal, Wednesday, February 26, 1840
