Crawley Lola Jane Crawley, 89, formerly of Mount Union, who resided with her daughter since 1995 at 176 Fifth Avenue, New Rochelle, N.Y., died unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at the Sound Shore Medical Center, in New Rochelle, N.Y. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at the Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Mount Union, with Rev. I. S. Owens officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. She was born April 8, 1911, in South Boston, Va., and was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Medley) Guthrie. She was united in marriage to Clarence W. Crawley on Dec. 28, 1928. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1993. She is survived by a daughter, Juanita Crawley Rones of New Rochelle, N.Y., and two sons, Clarence Edward Crawley of Ocala, Florida, and William Douglas Crawley Sr. of Mount Union. Eleven grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one sister, Lillian Saulker of South Boston, Va., also survive. Mrs. Crawley was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters: Rosabelle Guthrie, Mary Elizabeth Williams, Ernest Guthrie and James Guthrie. Lola received her education in the South Boston, Va. schools. She was employed for many years by Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, and worked a number of years doing domestic work for the Giacobello family and other families in the Mount Union area. Lola was an active member of the Bowen Memorial Baptist Church of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., where she was a mother and deaconess in the church. In the past, she had been an active member of the Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Mount Union where she was a deaconess, missionary and choir member. The Valley Log, Orbisonia, Pa., January 3, 2001
