Cromwell Ruth Irene Cromwell, 87, of HCR73 Three Springs, died at 12:36 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2002, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, at the M. R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, with Pastor Brian Crum officiating. Interment will be made in Cromwell Church Cemetery, RD Hustontown. Friends may call at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Born Jan. 30, 1915, in McConnellsburg, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Sylvia (Naugle) Rhodes. She was married to Walter E. Cromwell who preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1988. She is survived by three sons and five daughters: Royal Clevenger of Aragon, Georgia; Donald Clevenger of Athens, Texas; Mrs. Vernon (Beulah) Siders of Brunswick, Ohio; Mrs. Robert (Betty) Clippinger of Hustontown; Mrs. Charles (Bertha) Knable of Harrisonville; Mrs. Chester (Patricia) Black of Chambersburg; Mrs. John (Deloris) Mills of Three Springs; and Thomas E. Cromwell of Three Springs. Mrs. Cromwell is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 35 great- grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. One brother, two sisters, a half-sister and a great-granddaughter preceded her in death. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A member of the Church of God, Huntingdon, she was a homemaker. In her earlier years, she had worked at H. J. Heinz Co., Knouse Foods Inc. and Letterkenny Army Depot, all in Chambersburg.
