Dare, of Huntingdon, was killed during the late battles in Virginia. He was attached to the 5th Penna. Reserves. His mother and sisters reside in Newry, this co. Lt. Col. Miles, of the 49th P. V., son of John G. Miles, Esq., was also killed in the same battles. Democratic Standard, Hollidaysburg, Pa., Wednesday, May 25, 1864 Note: Col. George Dare is interred in the Burket cemetery, Huntingdon County.
