LOCAL AND PERSONAL.

  It is with feelings of real sorrow that we announce the death of our 
friend and patron, Mr. James H. Davis, which sad event occurred at his 
residence, in McAlevy's Fort, on Thursday evening of last week, after a 
lingering illness.  Mr. Davis was formerly a resident of West township, 
where he followed farming, but his health becoming much impaired that 
he was unfitted for daily toil, he rented his farm and removed to 
McAlevy's Fort.  He was a gentleman of the highest respectability and 
his death will be sorely felt in the community where he resided.
