D. 1, Box 436, Warriors Mark died unexpectedly Sunday, January 10,1993, at 5:00 a.m. at his residence. He was born March 23, 1917, in Waddle, Centre County, Pa., the son of James Albert Dean and Alice Edna Snook. He was married to LaRue Thomas on October 15, 1941, in Tyrone. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Wilbur G. Dean of Hyausviile, Md. and Daryl Dean of Bellefonte, Pa. Also surviving are four grandchildren, one great grandson, one sister, Cora H. Strouse, State College, Pa.; two brothers, Clair W. Dean, Pennsylvania Furnace; and Clarence L. (Breezy) Dean also of Pennsylvania Furnace. He was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, Tipton. Pa. He was also a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Vol. Fire Co. and the Cartright Hunting Club. He liked to hunt, fish, and work in his hobby shop. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army from April 14, 1941, to Aug. 8, 1944, in the States Corp. in the Infantry. He retired from P.S.U. on Jan. 1, 1978, after 38 years of service in the Agronomy Department where he was a plant breeder and tester. Friends are invited to attend funeral services Wednesday, January 13, 1993, at 2:00 p.m. at the Bruce E. Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark with Philip H. Dracup of Altoona officiating. Interment will be made in the Eastlawn Cemetery, Tyrone. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
