We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ Elsie E, "Becky " CAMPBELL, 89, formerly of Star Route, Huntingdon, and more recently of Huntingdon, RR 3, died at 6:10 p.m., Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, in Mifflintown, at the home of her daughter, Barbara Chaundy. Born Sept. 21, 1914, in Mapleton, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Minnie (Frain) Skipper. She was united in marriage to Francis R. "Joe" Campbell Jan. 22, 1931, at the 12th Street United Methodist Church in Huntingdon by the Rev. R.P. Daubenspeck. Mr. Campbell preceded her in death Dec. 19, 1987. She is survived by three daughters and one son: Mrs. Robert (Gloria) Eichensehr of Huntingdon, Mrs. Kenneth (Barbara) Chaundy of Mifflinburg. Arthur T, Campbell of Pottstown and Darlene L. Ross of Huntingdon, R.R. 3; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. One son, James, preceded her in death. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers, Shafter and Wilbur, and three sisters, Margaret Campbell, Mae Prough and Ruth Bookwalter. Mrs. Campbell had been a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church since 1950 and taught pre-school Sunday School class for several years. At one time she was a member of the POA Lodge in Mapleton. She was employed by Juniata College for 13 years, first in laundry and later in the kitchen. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home in Huntingdon with the Rev. Raymond C. Crownover officiating. Interment will be made in the IOOF Cemetery in Mapleton. Earl F. "Jack" CRAGO Jr., 81, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, and Formerly of 12044 North Ave., Waynesboro, died at 9:50 p.m. Monday, Dec, 1, 2003, at the nursing home. Born May 4, 1922, in New Liberty, Clearfield County, he was the son of the late Earl F. Sr. and Mildred (Mays) Crago. He was united in marriage to Lucille Yvette Gravelle Aug. 20, 1950, in Sackets Harbor, N.Y. He is survived by his wife; one daughterm Marie Yvette Reed of Waynesboro; two sons, Earl F. "Jack" Crago III of Harrisburg and Robert W, Crago of Huntingdon; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. One Sister, Delores Horning of Port Royal, and one brother, Benjamin Crago of Lewistown, survive, as well as several nieces and nephews, He was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorena "Bunny" Kahl; one son, George Crago; and one sister, Mae Crago. Mr. Crago was a member of Evangelical United Brethren Church, now Quincy United Methodist Church, and St. James Catholic Church in Chiefland, Fla. He was a member of the Joe Stickell American Legion Post No. 15, Waynesboro. After graduating from Lewistown High School in 1939, he received training in refrigeration and air conditioning in Pittsburgh. He served in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves. He Served during World War II from August 1942 until Jan. 1946 on board the USS Pigeon. He received the Pacific Theater Medal, the American Theater Medal and the Victory and Good Conduct Medals. He was recalled for a second tour of duty in December 1952 and served until October 1958. Between tours of military duty, Mr. Crago was employed by Montgomery Ward in Watertown, N.Y. Following his military discharge in 1958, he served as athletic director for the Qunicy Orphanage in Quincy, where he was responsible for developing athletic programs in baseball and basketball. From 1964 until his retirement in 1982, he was a counselor with the Youth Forestry Camp in Huntingdon County. He lived his early life in New Liberty and with his wife Lucille resided in Watertown, N.Y; Hesston; Old Town, Fla., in addition to their home in Waynesboro. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, in the Bryson Room at the Quincy United Methodist home, 6596 Orphanage Road. Qunicy, with Chaplain Daniel F. Derk officiating. Virginia M. PARKS, 54, of 49 Hillside Estate, McConnellsburg, died at 10:59 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg. Born March 24, 1949, in Mountain Green, she was the daughter of the late Paul A. and Helen (Moore) Neil. She was united in marriage to Marvin H. Parks in January 1979. She is survived by her husband at home; one daughter, Sandy M. Parks of McConnellsburg; one granddaughter, Kayla Blue of McConnellsburg; and one grandson, Thomas Blue Jr. of McConnellsburg. Three brothers and one sister survive; David E. Neil of Three Springs, Harry A. Neil of Tyrone, Debra A Neil of Shippensburg and Paul A. Neil Jr. of Orbisonia, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sister, Judy Neil, Barbara Jean Neil and Lawanda Beaty. Mrs. Parks was a member of Evangel Assembly of God Church in McConnellsburg. She was a social member of American Legion Post No. 561, McConnellsburg. Mrs. Parks was a homemaker and has also been employed by the former Musselman's Co., now Knouse Foods, Chambersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the John L. Agett Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, with the Revs. Belvy C. White and Marlin " Butch" Neil officiating. Interment will be made in Upper Path Valley Cemetery, Dry Run. Anna B. BROWN, 92, a resident of the Everett Christian Home and formerly of Saxton, died at 6:37 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Born May 13, 1911, in Dudley, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Sadie (Whittaker) Adolphson. She was formerly married to Charles W. Brown, who preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by three daughters; Ruth K. Best of Hopewell, Lou Ann Melius of Saxton and Thelma B. Bender of New Middletown, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great- great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Roy Brown. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Ms. Brown was a member of Saxton Brethren in Christ Church. She was a member of the Broad Top Area Senior Citizens. She worked as a caregiver for a number of years and at Claudia Footwear in Wood. She enjoyed reading her Bible. Interment will be made in the Methodist Cemetery in Dudley. Sara R. (Mears) FELTEN, 76, of 211 Village Square, Menno Village, Chambersburg, died unexpectedly at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Menno Village. Born Nov. 12, 1917, in Dudley, she was the daughter of the late George L. and Alice (Lloyd) Mears. She was united in marriage to Roy H. Felten Jr. May 15, 1940, in Dudley. Me. Felten preceded her in death May 21, 2003. She is survived by a daughter Jamie Ragland, and her husband, Michael, of Annapolis, Md.; Three grandchildren, Michael Ragland, Cheryl Ragland and Barton Ragland; and one great-granddaughter, Noelle Sara Michelle Ragland. Two sisters, Belle Sanderson, Poconos, and Betty Selecky, Chambersburg, and one brother, Bob Mears, Saxton, survive. She was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Gingrich, and two brothers, George Mears and Tom Mears. Mrs. Felten was a member of Dudley United Methodist Church. She was a member of AARP and NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees). She was a bookkeeper and worked for S.W. Woolworth C. in Virginia; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Rockville, Md., for 32 years, retiring in 1972. She enjoyed reading. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel in Saxton. Interment will be made in the Methodist Cemetery, Dudley. Katherine Virginia BOOHER, a resident of Beverly Healthcare, 3301 Lincoln Highway East, Fayetteville, since March 12, 2001, and formerly of the Orbisonia/Rockhill Furnace area, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at the nursing home. Born Aug. 1, 1933, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late George Sr. and Martha (Haube) Bechler. She is survived by three daughters and two sons: Deborah Ann Booher of Mechanicsburg; Mrs Freeman (Barbara Jean) Snair and Wade Eugene Booher, both of Rockhill Furnace; Mrs. James (Diana Kay) Leidy of Orbisonia; and David Lee Booher of East Waterford; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Two brothers, Robert Bechler of Jeanette and George Bechler of Pittsburgh, survive. Mrs. Booher was a homemaker. Prior to her move to Beverly healthcare, she had resided at Pott's Apartments, 5550 Cromwell St., Orbisonia, for five years. having moved from Rockhill Furnace. She had been a life time resident of Huntingdon County, There will be no public visitation and funeral services will be private. James M. "Jim" MORGAN Jr., 61 of 6304 Nicholas Drive, Walker Township, Huntingdon, and formerly of Pittsburgh, died at 4:33 p.m. Wed. Dec. 3 2003, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona. His death was sudden. Born Aug. 8, 1942, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late James M. Sr. and Rosemary L. Morgan. He is survived by his wife. Kathy L. Morgan, at the couple's Walker Twp. home; Two daughters, Kelly D. Morgan of New York, N.Y., and Erin L. Morgan of Huntingdon; and one son, James M. "Jimmy" Morgan III of Huntingdon. He is survived by two brothers and three sisters: Ralph Morgan, and his wife, Karen, of Bradford-woods; David Morgan, and his wife, Cindy, of Lafayette, La.; Suzanne Alston, and her husband, Denny, of Pittsburgh; Patricia Laquatra, and her husband, John, of Allison Park; and Laurie Gorse, and her husband, Gregg. of Flower Mound, Texas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Timothy Morgan, who is survived by his wife, Gerri, of Phoenixville. Mr. Morgan was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Huntingdon, where he served as an usher and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima, Chapter 4644, Knights of Columbus. He was a volunteer for the United Way of Huntingdon County and was a former member of the Pennsylvania Wardens Association. He attended public schools in Pittsburgh and was a graduate of Bellevue High School, North Hills, Pittsburgh, and the University of Pittsburgh. He served in the U S Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was stationed in Germany, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Morgan served as superintendent of SCI Pittsburgh before being transferred to SCI Smithfield, Huntingdon, in August 1991. He retired from SCI Smithfield as superintendent in June 2001. He loved his houseboat and his motorcycle. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending summers with them on his houseboat at Raystown Lake. He had been a resident of Huntingdon for the past 12 years. A funeral Mass will be held a 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 524 Mifflin St., Huntingdon, with the Rev. David J. Arseneault officiating. Interment will be private. Charles L. "Pete" BEATTY, 84, of 3403 Pennington Road, Warriors Mark Twp. Huntingdon County, died Wed., Dec. 3. 2003, at his residence. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of Charles H. and Arwin K. (Henderson) Beatty. She was united in marriage to Audrey J. Getz. He is survived by his wife in Tyrone; two daughters; Debra E. Tuskovich, and her husband, Randy, of Sinking Valley and Barbara A. Desch, and her husband, Michael, of Tyrone; five grandchildren; Shawn, Bradley and Jason Tuskovich, and Michael and Brooke Desch; and one great-grandson, Zachary Tuskovich. Three brothers, Kenneth Beatty af Naugatuck, Conn., and Cecil S. Beatty and Leroy Beatty, both of Petersburg, survive, as well as many nieces and nephews and special neighbors, Dick and Pat Campbell. He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine, and three brothers, James, Theodore and Alfred. Mr. Beatty was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a tech sergeant with Company B, 773rd TD Battalion in France and Germany. He served in the Third Army under Gen. George Patton and was awarded four bronze stars. He retired in 1973 on disability from Westvaco, Tyrone, as a fork truck operator following 25 years of service. He had been a farmer earlier in life and also had been employed as a brakeman for the PA. Railroad. He enjoyed cooking and baking. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Crever Memorial United Methodist Church, Petersburg, with Pastor Ray Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Petersburg. Emma B. WEIMERT, 85, of 170 Spencer St., Saxton, died at 3:23 p.m. Wed., Dec. 3, 2003, at the Charles County Nursing and Rehab Center, La Plata, Md., following and extended illness. Born July 8, 1918, in Saxton, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (Guthridge) Dick. She was united in marriage to Anthony F. Weimert Nov. 16 1933, in Cumberland, Md. Mr Weimert preceded her in death Jan. 16, 1993. She is survived by three sons; Daniel Weimert of Saxton, Robert Weimert of La Plata, Md., and Charles Weimert of Huntingtown, Md; one daughter, Andrea Husick, and her husband, Joseph, of La Plata, Md,; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Three sisters survive; Iva Pembrook of Wilmerding, Violet Coffman of Saxton and Martha Hennessey of Mechanicsburg. She was preceded in death by one grandson and three brothers; Carl Dick, Roscoe Dick and Elmer Dick. Mrs Weimert was a member of Raven Run Church of the Brethren, Saxton, R.R. Interment will be made in Yellow Creek Reformed Cemetery, Hopewell, R.R. Lottie Lee WHITEHEAD, 82, formerly of 10 W. Sheridan St., Mount Union, Died Thurs., Dec. 4, 2003, at University Park Nursing Center in St. College, where she had been a resident. Born Nov. 9, 1921, in Turbeville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Augusta (Ward) Richardson. She was united in marriage to Robert G. Whitehead Aug. 15, 1944, in New Rochelle, N.Y. Mr Whitehead preceded her in death Nov. 24, 1993. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marcus (Stephanie L.) Punch of Mt. Union; one son, Stanley G. Whitehead of Harrisburg; and two grandsons, Steven and Ralphaell Punch. A brother Willie Cleo Richardson, and his wife, Mary, of New Rochelle, N.Y., survives. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mozella R. Chambers and Connie R, Jones. Mrs Whitehead had been a member of Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Union since 1953. She was a charter member of the Mount Hope Gospel Choir and was a past president. She had worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory in Huntingdon for a number of years and at Empire Kosher for a short time. She also did domestic work at the Jack and Joyce Port home in Mt. Union. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Mon., Dec 8, at Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Union, with the Rev. I.S. Bill GERMANN of 1126 Mifflin St., Huntingdon, died at 10:35 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2003 He is survived by his wife, Margie; his son, George; his brother, Mike; Three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. At his reguest, there will be no public viewing or visitation. Margaret H. CAREY, 100, formerly of 1419 Mifflin St., Huntingdon, died at 12:55 a.m. Fri., Dec. 5, 2003, at Valley View Haven, Belleville. Born April 2, 1903, in Crystal Spring, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Isabelle (Beatty) Hixson. She was united in marriage to Hugh L. Carey Jan. 17 1942, at the First Methodist Church in Huntingdon. Mr Carey preceded her in death Feb. 14, 1967. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Heckman and Iva Hanks, and three brothers, Grant Hixson, Marshall Hixson and Roy Hixson. Mrs. Carey was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Huntingdon, where she served on many committees, including the finance and administrative committees. She was also active in the United Methodist Women' Society, served as church treasurer for several years and served her church at district and conference levels. She was a past matron of the Order of the Dastern Star No. 159 and first matron of the Juniata Valley Court-Order of the Amaranth No. 121; was a member of Donation Grange and former member of the Juniata Foundation for the Blind. She attended Fulton County schools, as well as Juniata College from 1922-1923. Mrs, Carey was first employed at the Grange Trust Co., which later became Penn Central National Bank, from 1923-1933. From 1933 to 1940, she was employed by the Pa. Industrial School. She returned to Penn Central in 1941 and retired in 1969 with 50 years of service as an assistant trust officer and assistant cashier. Genevieve C, "Peg" GIPE, 69, of 20269 Spring Run Road, Spring Run, died at 4:29 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg. Born Oct. 16, 1934, in Spring Run, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Martha (Coons) Coons. She was united in marriage to Bruce L. Gipe June 13, 1952. She is survived by her husband at home; one son, Randy E. Gipe, and his wife, Janice, of Spring Run; and one granddaughter, Bridget Simpson, and her husband, Daniel, and one grandson, Shane Gipe, all of Spring Run. A sister, Berniece Shatzer of Spring Run, survives. She was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Coons, and two sisters, Helen Traxler and Mary Shaner. Mrs. Gipe was a member of Spring Run United Methodist Church, Spring Run. Retiring in 1955, she had been employed by the Pa. Turnpike Commission at a restaurant; the former Tracy Fashions of Chambersburg; and Knouse Foods Chambersburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tues., Dec. 9, at the John L. (Duvall) DEFEO, 58, formerly of Mt. Union, and most recently of 4531 Sequoia Drive, Harrisburg, died at 4:50 a.m. Sat., Dec. 6, 2003, at the University of Pa. Hospital, Philadelphia. Born July 29, 1945, in Mt. Union, she was the daughter of the late Glenn and Antoinette (Floris) Duvall. She is survived by her husband, Louis N. Defeo; four children; Ann Marie Casey of Harrisburg, Michele T. Fortay of Philadelphia, Nicole D. Saia of Harrisburg and Frank J. Saia of Mt. Union; and five grandchildren. She is survived by three brothers and one sister; Glenn T. "John" Duvall, Pete A, Duvall and Paula A. Reeder, all of Mt. Union, and Thomas L. Duvall of Lothian, Md. Mrs Defeo was of the Catholic faith. She was a 1963 graduate of Captain Jack High School in Mt. Union. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thurs., Dec. 11, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Mt. Union, with the Rev. Leo Arnone Officiating. Interment will be made in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg, R.R. 1. Margaret "Maggie" "Marge" HROMADA, 66, formerly of 124 E. Blade Drive, Pennsylvania Furnace, who most recently resided with her daughter, Dawn, and her family, in Huntingdon, entered into eternal rest at 8:40 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer while surviving breast cancer. Miss Maggie was born Jan. 21, 1937, in Clifton, N.J., the youngest daughter of the late Adrian and Lena (Berkenbush) Vroeginday. She was united in marriage to Joseph J. Hromada Sept. 10, 1955, in Clifton, N.J. Mr. Hromada preceded her in death March 5, 1970. Ms. Hromada is survived by two daughters: Dawn D. Williams, and her husband, Steven D., of Huntingdon, and Tammy Jo Abernathy, and her husband, Michael, of Folrissant, Mo.; and five grandchildren; Curtis A, Shope Jr. of Cassville; Joseph K. Shope, Brandon D. Williams, all of Huntingdon; and Noah Cruz Abernathy, who will be arriving any day now in Florissan, Mo. Ms. Hromada is also survived by the following sisters and brothers along with their families; Mrs. Elias (Alice) DeBel, Ms. Gertrude Oostbyk, Ms. Jeanette Sasiela, Mrs. Neil ( Connie) Lorio, Adrian Vroeginday, Hervert Vroeginday and Robert Vroeginday, and his wife Doreen; and a sister-in-law, Mrs Crine (Rose) Vroeginday. Two older brothers preceded her in death, Peter Vroeginday, who died during World War II, and Crine Vroeginday, who passed away Jan. 14, 2003. Ms. Hromada was very active in community endeavors, such as the Junior Miss Pageant and the Toys for Tots Program in St. College. She was also instrumental and supportive as an active member of the online breast cancer support group, The Just Us Sisterhood. She was a 1954 graduate of Clifton Area High School, Clifton, N.J. Ms. Hromada had worked as a desktop operator for Josten's Printing and Publishing Co. in St. College until her retirement in July 2003. She enjoyed gardening, utilizing her skills with the computer activities and traveling to the Just Us Sisterhood gatherings and reunions throughout the country. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home Inc., 417 Washington St., Huntingdon, with the Rev. George "Buddy" Baird officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon, where she will join her husband, Joseph for eternal rest. Evelyn M. (Ross) WETZEL, 67, of 200 Newhope Cemetery Road, Pulaski, Tenn., formerly of Huntingdon County, passed away at 3:08 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn., due to complications with rheumatoid arthritis. Born March 1, 1936, in Wood, she was the daughter of the late William and Myrtle (Dell) Ross. She was united in marriage to Harry Theodore Wetzel March 22, 1956, in the former E.U.B. Church in Three Srings by Pastor Charles Rhodes. Mr Wetzel preceded her in death in Nov. 1972. She is survived by two brothers, William C. Ross and Joseph Ross, and his wife, Sandy, all of Mapleton; a brother-in-law, Edwin Heath of Broad Top City; and long-time friend and companion, Ramona Beveridge of Pulaski, R.R., Tenn. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary E. Heath. Mrs. Wetzel was a member of Fairview Evangelical Church, Three Springs, R.R. She was a 1954 graduate of Saltillo High School. She and her husband had operated an auto repair shop in Saltillo and drove school bus. With her friend, Ramona Beveridge, she owned and operated a farm in Pulaski, Tenn. She and Ms. Beveridge also owned and operated a trucking business. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sat., Dec. 13, at Fairview Evangelical Church, Three Springs, R.R., with Pastors Melford Brubaker and William Hughes officiating. Interment will be made in Fairview Evangelical Cemetery. John Richard LOHMAN, 55, of 728 Fifth St., Huntingdon, died at 2:13 p.m. Sat., Dec. 6, 2003, at his home, where he had resided since March. He had been in failing health for the past year. Born Jan. 24, 1948, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late John Benjamin and Dorothy Louise (Rhine) Lohman. He was united in marriage to Martha I. Shilling March 13, 2003, in Eldorado, Kan., By the Rev. Curtis Fike. He was survived by his wife at home and twin children, John R. Lohman II and Theresa L. Lohman, both of Huntingdon. He is survived by two sisters and one brother. Mr. Lohman was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the US and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a Vietnam veteran, having served in the United States Army from 1965-1975 with the 22D Field Artillery. Mr. Lohman was previously an assistant manager at McDonald's A former manager of an Ames Dept. Store and had worked in construction in the Lock Haven area. She is survived by her husband, Larry C, Garber; her mother, and father , Jack Veregge, of Radiant.Va, his wife, Judy Goss, of Fla.; one son, Gregory Garber of Richmond, Va.; and two daughters; Gretchen Garber of Dublin, Va., and Gloria Garber of Culpeper, Va. "Randy" and Mary Elizabeth "Beth" (Turnbaugh) Perrin, who survive at the family' Alexandria home. She has been a life time resident of Huntingdon County before moving to Tyrone in 1999. Mrs. Griffith was an avid bingo player and loved to read and play guitar. She also had a special interest in plants, flowers and gardening. LaVonda Geraldine HOOPER, 79, of Kansas road, McVeytown, died at 9:09 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at the Lewistown Hospital. Born July 17, 1924 in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Blaine and Arvilla (Swope) Smith. She was married to Elmer H. Hooper who preceded her in death on March 24, 1992. Surviving are two sons, Steven E. Hooper of McVeytown and David E. Hooper of Port Royal; a sister, Mary Werner of Mapleton Depot; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald L. Donald Alvin MILLER, 90, OF 33 Selina Drive, Huntingdon, died at 8:40 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at the Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon. Born March 4, 1923, in New Berlin, He was the son of the late John A. and Esther (Wagner) Miller. He was united in marriage to Mary E. Rodney March 23, 1946, in Philadelphia, by the Rev. Hubert Mumford. He is survived by his wife at home; three daughters, Kathleen E. Miller of Huntingdon, Susan L. Miller of Dubuque, Iowa, and Cynthia J. Miller, and her husband, Randall Uhler, of Emmaus; and one son, Rodney D. Miller, and his wife, Kimberly, of Williston, N.D. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Elizabeth Uhler, Lauren Uhler, Rodney Uhler, Brittney Figard and Mackenzie Miller. Three brothers, Robert W. Miller of Lewisburg, Roy G. Mr Miller was a member of Huntingdon Presbyterian Church where he had served on the Church school teaching staff, as an elder, as a member of the board of trustees and a clerk of session. He was past president of the Huntingdon County Society for Crippled Children (now Easter Seals); treasurer for Huntingdon Meals on Wheels for 10 years; member of Huntingdon Kiwanis Club, for which he served as treasurer for eight years and was selected "Kiwanian of the Year" for 1995-96; and was a member of the National Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association and the Pennsylvania Psychological Association. He was a 1930 graduate of Lewisburg High School; a 1934 graduate of Temple University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in education; and a 1941 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where he received a master's degree in education. A veteran of World War II, he enlisted in the United States Army and was discharged with the rank of captain. He first taught at East Buffalo Twp. Elementary school, then at the Episcopal Academy in Philadelphia for 16 years. Mr. Miller served as the Huntingdon County school psychologist for eight years; Huntingdon County assistant superintendent for four years; Huntingdon County superintendent for nine years; and as a director at the Tuscarora Intermediate Unit, retiring in 1978. Born April 17, 1929, in Six Mile Run, she was the daughter of the late Simpson B. and Sara Edna (Bollman) Black. She was united in marriage to William M. Perrin March 31, 1948, in Winchester, Va. She is survived by her husband at home; Two daughters, Cynthia J. Neville, and husband, William, of Saxton, R.R., and Patricia M. Dixson, and her husband, Thomas, of Pembroke Pines. He was united in marriage to Kathie Ann "Kate" Rader Oct. 20, 1979, at the First Regular Baptist Church in Huntingdon by the Rev. Wendell Maloch. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Laura Elizabeth East; and one son, Paul Anthony East, all at home. He is survived by two brothers; Kent W. East Jr. of Juniata Township, Huntingdon County; and Michael B. East. and his wife, Lori (Bonati), of North East, Md. Also surviving are his maternal grandmother, Margaret Hilshansky of Huntingdon. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Paul Fetzko, and his paternal grandparents, William and Laura East. Mr. East was a member of the First Regular Baptist Church in Huntingdon, where he served as a deacon and on the pastoral relations committee. He was a member and captain of the First Regular Baptist Church bowling team, as well as a member of the Yoders Enterprise bowling team of the Southern Huntingdon Men's League. He was a 1977 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School and a graduate of the Biscayne Paramedical Institute, Biscayne, Fla. For over 24 years, he was employed by JC Blair Memorial Hospital, serving as technical supervisor in the hematology department. He was also employed part-time at the Standing Stone Golf Club, Oneida Township, Huntingdon. Mr. East was an avid golfer, bowler and hunter. Salmons officiating, assisted by the Rev. James Stork. Jack James MOLLISH, 85, formerly of 100 Edgewood Avenue, Clarksburg, W.Va., died at 12:30 am. Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at The Heritage Inc. in Bridgeport, W.Va., following an extended illness. He was born in Saltillo, June 10, 1918, the son of the late Martin and Helen (Wharholic) Mollish. His wife, Helen (Kocik) Mollish, whom he married Aug. 23, 1947, preceded him in death Aug. 23, 2003. He is survived by one daughter, Mary Anne Seckman of Clarksburg, W.Va.; two granddaughters, Andrea Seckman of Columbus, Ohio, and Stacie Seckman of Clarksburg, W.Va.; and one great-granddaughter, Elena Grace Seckman of Clarksburg, W.Va. Two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Minnie) Miller of Saxton and Orlena Stapleton of Martinsburg, survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers; John, Milton and Russell Mollish, and eight sisters; Mary Yablonslki, Eva Kapinos, Anna Gorski, Barbara Gorski, Helen Gorski, and Pauline, Julie and Olga Mollish Mr. Mollish was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a charter member of the Clarksburg Association of Life Underwriters and, most dear to his heart, the Clarksburg Sierra Club. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. During the 1940s, he was the manager of the Todd Township Farm League Baseball Team. His early career as a coal miner started in Broad Top. He then owned and operated an IGA grocery store in Todd and started his insurance business in 1945 with the Washington National Life Insurance Co. in Huntingdon. He moved to Clarksburg in 1957 to serve as district manager with Union Bankers Insurance Co. In 1965, he and his wife founded the National Insurance Management Corporation. ISENBERG, 94, formerly of 824 Mifflin St., Huntingdon, died at 8:10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2003, at the Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon. Born May 16, 1909 in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late George Frederick and Mary (Africa) Kline. She was twice married, first to Joseph P. Rumberger, then to Donald C. Isenberg, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Mary Ann) Young of Winter Haven, Fla.; two sons, Joseph P. Rumberger Jr. of Lakeside, Calif., and Robert F Rumberger of Huntingdon; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Born July 25, 1937, in Orbisonia, he was the son of the late Grover and Gertrude Winnick. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Winnick, in 1995. He is survived by two sons, Gerald J. winnick Jr. of North East, Md., and Timothy R, Winnick of Three Springs; a daughter, Patricia A, Sumner of Brogue; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at the Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon. Born Dec. 19, 1936, in Mount Union, he was the son of the late James and Lillian (Pannebaker) Dunn. He was united in marriage to Anna "Rose" McMullen Dec. 19, 1986. He is survived by his wife; six children; Dottie, Nancy, Jimmy, Billy, Susan and Barbara Dunn; and three stepchildren; Debra Varner of Springfield, Mass., Connie L. Fields of Mount Union and Herk Varner of Mount Union. There are also a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren who survive. Two sisters, Geraldine Park of Mount Union and Ruth Stanek of Blacklog Valley, survive, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Julia McCartney and Helen Zitch. Mr. Dunn was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of Sons of Italy, Mount Union Lodge; VFW Post 5754, Mount Union; and American Legion Post 107, Mount Union. He graduated from Captain Jack High School in 1954 and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired after many years as a pipe fitter at Bethlehem Steel. Gordon Ross officiating. Interment will be made in Mount Union Cemetery. Wayne Eugene STONER, 75, of HCR 1, Box 77, Todd, died unexpectedly at 11:04 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at his home. Born Jan. 22, 1928, in Joller, he was the son of the late Jules and Olive (Hooper) Stoner. He was united in marriage to Cleoma G. Fessler June 19, 1954, in Hagerstown, Md. He is survived by his wife at home; two daughters, Kimberly Defibaugh and Cynthia Woodal, both of Todd; four grandchildren, Charlie and Matthew Defibaugh and Craig and Stuart Woodal; and four great-grandchildren. A sister, Freda Cook of Todd, survives. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Stoner. Mr. Stoner was a member of Trough Creek United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Watson-Black American Legion Post 126, Broad Top City. He was a United States veteran of World War II and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1990 as a machinist from Bonney Forge in Huntingdon after 35 years of service. Mr. Stoner enjoyed reading, was an avid fisherman and attended many shooting matches in the area. Eugene Milton MITCHELL, 77, of 1132 Landau Road, Fayetteville, N.C., died Wed., Dec. 17, 2003, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville. He is survived by his wife, Irene H. Mitchell, at their home. Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Jean Altman of Fayetteville, N.C., and Edith Marie Flaherty of Sanford, N.C. Four sons: Eugene M. Mitchell Jr. of Edmonds, Wash.; Randall D, Mitchell of Kemp, Texas; Michael D. Mitchell of Hope Mills, N.C.; and Bruce E. Mitchell of Fayetteville, N.C. also survive. A brother William Mitchell of Three Springs also survives along with four half sisters; Norma Jean Snyder of Three Springs; Joanne Bickel of Mapleton; Anna Mae Waters of Hustontown; and Peggy Towsey of Port Royal. There are five half-brothers who also survive; Richard Mitchell and George Mitchell, both of Three Springs; Irvin Ray Mitchell of New Castle, Del.; Thomas Mitchell of Mapleton; and Paul Mitchell of Port Royal. Mr Mitchell is also survived by 13 Grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Northwood Temple Church and Fort Bragg Masonic Lodge No. 667. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, the Full Gospel Businessmen and former associate pastor of Five Oaks Methodist Church. He was a Past Master of Fort Bragg Lodge No. 667. KEISER, 56. of Peyton, Colo., died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colo., following a brief illness. Born June 21, 1947, in Oliver Township, Mifflin County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Betty (Flagle) Keiser. He was reared in the home of Marion "Buck" and Janet (Keiser) Rhoades, his uncle and aunt. He was united in marriage to Linda Hartle June 21, 1968. MORELLI, 80, of 15 Sage Hill Drive, Williamsburg, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, Dec. 18, 2003. Born Jan. 14, 1923, in Williamsburg, he was the son of the late Arcangelo and Fenizia (Pozzi) Morelli. He was united in marriage to Evelyn K. Shoop Dec. 24, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church, Williamsburg. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Avis A. Ritter, and her husband, Thad, of Philipsburg; two sons, Nicholas A. Morelli II, and his wife, Suzanne, of Maineville, Ohio, and Arkey A. Morelli, and his wife, Sandy, of Huntingdon; and seven grandchildren; Rebecca and Kathryn Ritter and Anthony, Tobias, Tyler and Angelo Morelli. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ruth Morelli of Williamsburg, and a niece and three nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Marion A. Morelli Jan 13, 1989. Mr Morelli was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he was a former Sunday School teacher, memorial fund treasurer and member of the church council. He was a member, treasurer, past commander and former service officer of the Williamsburg VFW Memorial Post No. 6086. He was also a former director on the Williamsburg school board and former director of the Williamsburg Farm Show. He was a 1940 graduate of Williamsburg High School and a graduate of the Altoona School of Commerce. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre, attaining the rank of staff sergeant. Mr. Morelli retired as postmaster from the Huntingdon Post Office Jan. 3, 1985, with 12 years of service, and previously served as postmaster at Williamsburg form 1963 to 1973. He was employed at the Williamsburg Penelec plant from 1946 to 1963 and was also previously employed at Hollidaysburg and had his own lime hauling truck business. Cleo P, (Painter) SNYDER, 75, formerly of Rockhill Furnace, died at 12:55 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at the Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia. Born May 20, 1928, in Rockhill Furnace, she was the daughter of the late Earl C. and Alberta (Starr) Painter. She was married to Herbert E. Snyder on Sept. 12, 1947, in Three Springs. Mr Snyder preceded her in death March 28, 1995. Mrs. Snyder is survived by six children: Deborah K. Crawford and Lu Ann A. White, both of Mt. Union; Ronald E. Snyder and H. John Snyder, both of Orbisonia; Karen Sue McConaughey of Rockhill Furnace and Barry E. Snyder of Warfordsburg. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A sister, Audrey Glunt of Orbisonia, and a brother, Alvin Painter of Three Springs, also survive. Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by two brothers. MOORE, 102, a resident of Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, since August and formerly of Neelyton, died at 7:10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at the retirement center. Born Nov. 22, 1901, in Neelyton, she was the daughter of the late James Pollard and Mary Belle (Wiley) Morgan. She was united in Marriage to Cloyd R. Moore July 23, 1931. Mr. Moore preceded her in death June 21, 1977. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Ramona) Parsons of Route 1, Blairs Mills; one son James D. Moore of Ocean View, Del., R.R. 1; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Moore was an avid reader, traveled to 38 states, loved cross-word puzzles and enjoyed crocheting, quilting, needlepoint and latch hook. she read her Bible through many times and kept a diary for over 70 years. Stuller Oct. 25, 1936, in Six Mile Run at the home of the groom by the Rev. Simmons. Mr. Stuller preceded her in death Jan. 25, 1983. She is survived by one son, Roger D. Born April 23, 1914, in Lemont, Centre County, she was the daughter of the late John Richard and Margaret Viola (Hoover) Ross. She was united in marriage to Glenn E. Spriggle May 15, 1936, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church parsonage in Huntingdon by the Rev. Bagget. Mr. Spriggle preceded her in death. She is survived by one son, James Glenn Spriggle, and his wife, Jean (Getic), of Huntingdon, R.R. 1; one granddaughter, Linda Joyce Allison, and her husband, Terry, of Alexandria; and five great-grandchildren; Jenny, Emily, Clay, Wyatt and Ethan Allison, all of Alexandria. Barbara (Stevens) BAXTER, 70, of Briarwood, Walker Twp. Huntingdon, died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh. Born April 9, 1933, in Wildwood Heights, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Alfred and Hedwig (Guyer) Stevens. She was united in marriage to Craig Baxter, May 28, 1984, at Saint John's Episcopal Church in Carlisle. She is survived by her husband at home; a stepson, William A. Wishmeyer of Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands; and her husband's children, Craig Baxter II and Louise S. Baxter, both of McLean, Va. She is survived by a brother, Thomas S. Stevens, and his wife, Marjorie E. Stevens, of Wilmington, Del,. and Cape May, N.J., as well as their children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joan G. Stevens. Mrs. Baxter was a member of the Huntingdon Presbyterian Church, where she served as a trustee. She was a member of the Huntingdon County Bar Association and in 1994, she was the first woman to be elected president of the association. she was a member of the Huntingdon Rotary Club, and was therein selected as a Paul Harris Fellow. In addition, Mrs. Baxter was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and was a direct descendant of pilgrim John Howland. She served on the advisory council of the Huntingdon County Head Start Program and was a past president and current member of the board of directors of Huntingdon House. Mrs. Baxter graduated from Cape May High School, New Jersey, with the Class of 1951 and from the University of Pa. in 1955. While at Penn, she was a member of the Mortar Board, as honor society in the College for Women, and was also named the recipient of the Delta Dalta Dalta Award for outstanding service to the college. In 1957, she received a master's degree in higher education administration from Indiana University, Bloomington, Ind. She obtained her law degree from the Dickinson School of Law, Carlisle, in 1983. From 1957 to 1959, she was the assistant coordinator of student activities at Southern Illinois University. In 1959, she became dean of women at Dickinson College, a post she held until 1967. Subsequently, she was employed by Cumberland County, Pa., in the probation office, children's services and as an attorney and hearing officer in domestic relations until 1984. In 1984, she began the practice of law in Huntingdon in the firm now known at Baxter and Kipphan. Interment will be made in Cold Spring Presbyterian Cemetery, Cape May, N.J. Rosalee B. LONER, 62, of 202 W. Poplar St., Mt. Union, died at 11:58 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born May 3, 1941, in McConnellsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ted and Mabel (Spriggs) Brown. She was united in marriage to James N. Loner Sr. Sept. 26, 1964, in Hagerstown, Md. She is survived by her husband and the following children; Tonya Leverette, and her husband, Lee, of Pensacola, Fla.; Kim Clayborn, and her husband, Tommy, of Hagerstown, Md.; Pamela Simmons, and her husband, Kenneth, Ed Brown, and his wife, Jen, and James "Manny" Loner Jr., all of Mt. Union; Jeffrey Loner of Gautier, Miss.; and Bill Loner, and his wife, Nikki, of Mt. Union. Also surviving and 25 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Loner was a very active member of the Tabernacle Church of God in Christ of Mount Union. She attended McConnellsburg Area High School and has been employed for over 15 years at U.S, Sports in Huntingdon. Her life revolved around raising her family and taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved planting flowers. Frank J. HOWELL, 95, a resident of Valley View Haven, Belleville, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital. He was born Dec. 5, 1908, in Petersburg, the son of the late Aaron A. and Annie E. (Sellers) Howell. He was united in marriage to Mary E. Haffly, who preceded him in death Nov. 5, 2000. REGAN, 81, of James Creek, formerly of Harrisburg, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg. He was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Martin J. and Elizabeth (Anderson) Regan. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Arline "Bunnie" Regan: Four children; Joan Howsare, and her husband. Dan, of Bedford, Dick Regan and Trish Regan, both of Harrisburg, and Matt Regan of New Cumberland; and two grandchildren, Brant and Ashley Howsare, both of Pittsburgh. He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired as a systems manager for ITT Terryphone, Harrisburg. Frieda R. McCARTY, 83, formerly of Mapleton, R.R. 1, and most recently a resident of Huntingdon Manor, died at 5:37 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, in the intensive care unit at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born Dec. 24, 1920, in Decatur, she was the daughter of Ellis and Frances (Trump) Emigh. She was twice married, first to William E. Fagan; then, to A. Gerald McCarty, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons and one daughter. William E. Fagan Jr. of Tampa Bay, Fla., Mary F. Fagan of Alexandria and Ralph J. Fagan Sr. of Huntingdon; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. McCarty graduated from Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1940. She was retired from Elco Corp., Huntingdon. Theresa "Mickey" SMITH, 72, of River Drive, Riddlesburg, died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Pennknoll Village in Bedford, following a lengthy illness. Born May 30, 1931, in Pittsburg, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Couture) LaRoche. In 1948, she was united in marriage to Dexter G. Smith in Massachusetts. She is survived by her husband at home; Two daughters, Elizabeth Paravato, and her husband, Martin, of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Virginia Haines, and her husband, Donald, of Portland, Ore.; and four grandchildren. Two sisters, Belle Normandin of Ocala, Fla., and Pauline McHugh of Leominster, Mass., and one brother. Albert LaRoche of Manchester, N.H., survive. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Mrs. Smith was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Dudley. She was a member of the Six Mile Run Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She was primarily a homemaker and was employed for several years with Home Nursing Agency. Mrs. Smith enjoyed reading and attending church. Walter W. LIGHTNER, 90, of Shirleysburg, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Woodland Retirement Center in Orbisonia. He had been in failing health. Born March 2, 1913, in Shirleysburg. he was the son of the late John and Nora (Book) Lightner. He was united in marriage to Hattie B, Bookhiemer Jan. 8, 1955, at the Assembly of God Church in Mt. Union. He is survived by his wife, who is a resident of the Shirley Home for the Aged in Shirleysburg. He is also survived by a nephew, Darrell Bookheimer of Centerville, Ga., who was reared in Mr. Lightner's home. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters; John Lightner, Paul Lightner, Cyrl Lightner, Elizabeth Hite, Bertha Byers and Florence Felts. Mr. Lightner was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church in Mt. Union. He had been a federal government employee at Letterkenny in Chambersburg and Middletown. He had also worked at Industrial Hardwood in Mt. Union and for the Pennsylvania Railroad. Mr. Lightner enjoyed gardening and through the years had received many awards at the Huntingdon County Fair for his gardening. "Dot" STEVER, 59, of R.R. 1, Box 239A, Saxton, died at 4:50 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at Altoona Hospital, following a brief illness. Born Aug. 7, 1944, in Everett, she was the daughter of Mildred (Barnes Rhodes) Hawn of Huntingdon and the late Robert Dale Rhodes. She was united in marriage to Blair D. Stever Oct. 12, 1961, in Cassville. She is survived by her mother of Huntingdon; her husband at home; two daughters, Barbara Hart, and her husband, Tim, and Brenda Hoover, all of Saxton, R.R.; and three grandsons, Jesse and Tyler Hoover and Drew Hart. A brother, Robert J. Rhodes of Huntingdon, survives. Mrs. Stever was of the Protestant faith. She was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School. She was primarily a homemaker and enjoyed fishing and crocheting and was an avid bingo player at local fire companies and various organizations. William Charles GRAEBER, 88, of Schenck Road, Wells Tannery, died at 10:11 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg. Born Nov. 4, 1915, in Ashland, Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late William N. and Anna (Hoffman) Graeber. He was united in marriage to Mildred M. Stunkard who preceded in death June 12, 1991. He is survived by one daughter, Yvonne W. Cook of Wells Tannery; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One sister, Mildred Wasser of Bethlehem, survives. He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Mr. Graeber was a member of the Wells Valley United Methodist Church in Wells Tannery. He was a member of Everett Lodge No. 524, Free and Accepted Masons; Harrisburg Consistory; the Jaffa Shrine of Altoona; and Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Hamburg. He was also a member of the Bedford County Consistory Club, Bedford County Shrine Club and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 519, McConnellsburg. Nittany Medical Center in St. College. Born May 1, 1933, in Blacklog Valley, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Amanda (Kerlin) Cooper. Her first marriage was to Allen B. Moore, Feb. 14, 1951. Mr. Moore survives. She was later married to Samuel Calvin Grove, March 31, 1975. Mr. Grove preceded her in death Feb, 1991. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Dinah) Poorman of Huntingdon; one grandson, Stewart A. Poorman, and his wife, Kara, of Huntingdon; one great-granddaughter, Kalyn Marie Shope; and one great- grandson, Anthony Calvin Poorman. A sister, Beulah Wiser of Chambersburg, and a brother, Ron Cooper Sr., and his wife, Patricia "Anne," of Beaver Falls, survive. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Joyce A. Moore; a sister, Irene Fisher; three Brothers, Melvin Cooper Sr., Alan Ray Cooper and Robert Cooper ; and three infant brothers. Mrs. Grove attended Mt. Zion Lutheran Church. She graduated from Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1951. She retired May 1, 1986, form Owens Corning Fiberglas after 26 years of service. Mrs Grove had an avid interest in wildlife. She enjoyed hunting and fishing and hunting morel mushrooms. She was a lifetime resident of Huntingdon County and had resided at her Stone Creek Ridge home since 1966. GARNER, 80, of Bethany Towers, Mechanicsburg, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at Holy Spirit Hospital. Born in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Blair and Mary (Kyler) Garner. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Clara (Mierley) Garner; a son. John R. Garner, and his wife, Sheri, of Shepherdstown, W.Va.; a daughter. Nina C. Kerstetter, and her husband, Gerald, of Mechanicsburg; one grandson; and two greatgrandchiidren. A sister, Esther McIlroy of Florida, and six nieces and nephews, survive. He was preceded in death by brothers Benjamin Garner and John Garner, and one sister, Mary Newin. Mr. Garner was a member of Mount Olivet United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg. He was a member of the USS St. Paul Association; VFW Post No. 07530; the fleet Reserve Association; and the American Legion. He graduated from Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1940. He enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country from World War II through Vietnam. During his naval career, he was stationed aboard the USS Lea, the USS Currituck and the USS St. Paul, as well as serving at various military bases in the U.S. and abroad. He was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation, the European/African Theatre medal, the American Theatre medal, the World War IIVictory medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal (second award) and the Fifth Good Conduct Award. After retiring. Mr. Garner found pleasure in writing numerous articles about his childhood in Huntingdon, which were published in The Daily News, Huntingdon. He was also an avid aviator and enjoyed 'scrapbooking' family history and keeping in touch with relatives and friends via the Internet. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. She is survived by her parents; her husband at home; and one daughter, Katie Allyson at home. She is also survived by one sister, Jenny R. WILT, 39, of 13546 Coldsmire Gateway, Bristow, Va., formerly of Huntingdon and the Mount Union area, died early Friday morning, Dec. 26, 2003, at Inova Cameron Glen Health Systems, Reston, Va., following a brief illness. He was born Jan. 31, 1964, in Huntingdon, the son of Joanne (Fortney) Hess of Huntingdon; and the grandson of Josephine Whitsel of Huntingdon, Lillian Fortney of Newton Hamilton and the late Ed Fortney. He is also survived by a sister, Michele (Wilt) Brown, and a brother, Corey Wilt, both of Smithfield, Huntingdon, and two nephews and a niece. He was also a graduate of DuBois Business College, Huntingdon. He was currently employed by Red Lobster. Born Feb. 12, 1939, in Saxton, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Spielman) Heaton. He is survived by two brothers, Bill Heaton and John Heaton. He was preceded in death by a companion, Mildred "Millie" Byers; a brother, Eugene Heaton; and a niece, Donna Heaton. As a child, Mr. Heaton attended the United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and the Watson-Black American Legion Post No. 126. He was united in marriage to Mary Esther Baker Dec. 8, 1950, in Erie by the Rev. Galbraith. He is survived by his wife at home; three daughters and two sons; Shirley J. McAllister, and her husband, Donald, of Lynchburg, Va., Judy A. Peters, and her husband, Vernney, of Barree Twp., Huntingdon, R.R.2; and Charles F. Culbertson, Tammy T. He was also a member of the united Methodist Men. He was a life member of the Stone Creek Valley Community Volunteer Fire Co.; a member of the Central District Volunteer Fireman's Association; and a former member of the Standing Stone Creek Hunting and Fishing Association Inc. He attended the former Smith School in Miller Township Huntingdon County. He was employed for three years with Standard Steel in Burnham, He was also employed by Herbert R. Impt (HRI) for one year, L.C. Anderson & Sons for over 18 years, Glenn O. Hawbaker and by Valley Royal Electric Cooperative Inc. for 12 years, until his retirement. Mr. Culbertson enjoyed hunting and watching sports. Following his retirement, he took great pleasure in spending many hours on his back porch watching nature and acknowledging friends and family. Interment will be made in Donation Cemetery, Oneida Twp. Huntingdon County. Clem Chestnut "Mick" HOUSE, 78, of Hustontown, died Saturday morning, Dec. 27, 2003, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona. Born April 26, 1925, in Hustontown, he was the son of the late Robert and Olive (Clark) House. He was first married to Martha R, Kerlin, sho survives, of Long Beach, Calif. He later married Doris Z. Wilson, who preceded him in death March 13, 1998. He is survived by one daughter, Sally R, Lofstedt of Cerritos, Calif.; two sons, Robert C. House of Newburg and Roger L. House of Breezeweed; and four step-children; Richard A. Zittle of Harrisonville, Veronica L. Scott of Chambersburg, Gary D. Zittle of East Berlin and Valerie L. Zittle of Hagerstown, Md. He is also survived by seven grand-children, eight step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. One sister, Evelyn Hann of Hustontown, and two brothers, Clifford House of Hustontown and James House of Three Springs, survive, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Roberts. and one brother, Robert House. Mr. House was of the Protestant faith. He owned and operated House's Citgo in Hustontown for nearly 20 years. In earlier years, he had worked in coal mining in the Broad Top Area and had been a heavy equipment operator on construction projects. Homer C. CONFER Sr., 77, of 70 Rockville Road, Belleville, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at his home. He was born April 23, 1926, in Lumber City, Reedsville, the son of the late Phillip Fulton and Bertha (Worrall) Confer. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Della (Keller) Confer. He was united in marriage to Esther Hoffmaster Jan. 24, 1953. He is survived by his wife at home and seven children; Susan Spigelmyer of Lewistown; Homer C. Confer Jr. of Belleville; Carl Confer of Huntingdon; Patrick Confer, and his wife, Sandy, of Belleville; Timothy Confer, and his wife, Shelly, of McVeytown; Linda Confer of Huntingdon; and Dale Confer of Belleville, He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren. Born Feb. 25, 1937, in McConnellsburg, she was the daughter of Florence Genevieve (Davis) Spriggs of McConnellsburg and the late William Spriggs. She was united in marriage to Raymond R. Moore Sr. Feb. 11, 1957, in Hagerstown, Md. Mr. Moore survives at the couple's home and together, they were blessed with six children: Richard L. Spriggs, and his wife, Betty, of Mount Union; Mitchell R. Spriggs, and his wife, Kathy, of Mount Union; Raymond R. Moore Jr., and his wife, Sandra, of Mount Union, R.R. 1; Brenda A. Clifton, and her husband, Steven, of San Diego, Calif.; Sylvia J. Morris, and her husband, John, of Mount Union; and Shirley R. Moore, and Paul, of Mount Union. Her "pooh bear," Raymond Etienne Johnson of Mount Union, was reared in her home. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Moore was an active and faithful member of the Bethel African Methodist Church in Mount Union, where she served on the Stewardess Board. Mrs. Moore, affectionately called "Dinah" by her mother, was educated in the McConnellsburg School District. She was employed by and retired from Juniata College in 1994 after 20 years of service. (Lancaster) Scholl OLIVO, 86. of Perrysburg, Ohio, formerly of the DeForrest Apartments. Huntingdon, died at 1:50 am. Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at The Browning Care Center in Waterville, Ohio. She had been in failing health for the past several years. Born June 28, 1917, in Shirley Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Teressa Lancaster. She was united in marriage to Edward Ward Scholl July 24. 1936, in Hagerstown, Md. Mr. Scholl preceded her in death. On June 28, 1986, she was united in marriage to Patrick Olivo at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church in Huntingdon. Mr. Olivo preceded her in death Nov. 1, 1993. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Holland, and her husband, Ron, of Waterville, Ohio, and Mary Gill of Bellefonte three sons, Earl Fultz, and his wife, Dell Ann, of Cumberland, Md., Willie Scholl, and his wife. Marcia, of Malvern, and Larry Scholl, and his wife, Bonnie. of Rockhill Furnace; and two stepdaughters, Shirley Dunmire, and her husband, Ron, of McVeytown, and Debs Olivo of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Robert and Lawrence Lancaster, Cecil Lercher and Cora Canto. Mrs. Olivo was a member of Huntingdon Christian & Missionary Alliance Church. She worked in the forming department at Owens Corning Fiberglas where she retired after 26 years of service. Mrs. Olivo enjoyed traveling and attending family weddings and graduations, as well as taking bus tours. She was also an avid cook and enjoyed country music. Funeral services will be held at 10a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington St., Huntingdon, with the Rev. James A. Stork officiating. Interment will be made in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirley Township. Patsy D. HORTON, 73, of Shade Gap, R,R,, died at 2:50 am. Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona. Born Feb. 16, 1930, in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Russell and Ruth (Baer) Hornbaker. She was united in marriage to William D. Horton Jan. 19, 1952, in Winchester, va. She is survived by her husband at home; two daughters, Vicki Pfalzgraf, and her husband, Richard, of Pittsburgh and Billie Horton of Reading; one son, Timothy Horton of Neelyton; and one granddaughter, Kaci Horton of New Bloomfield. She is also survived by one sister, Betty Holden of Orbisonia, and two brothers, James Hornbaker of McVeytown and William Hornbaker of Lewistown. Mrs. Horton was a member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Mount Union Chapter No. 280 Order of the Eastern Star. She retired in 1992 from Rockhill Sportswear Inc. after 25 years of service. A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the Martin R. Betty Louise SHOEMAKER, 72, of R.R. 3. Box 15, Huntingdon, died at 1:34 am. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at her residence. She had been in failing health. Born Dec. 28, 1931, in Entriken, she was the daughter of the late Charles Cunningham and Viola Miller, who survives in McConnellstown. She was united in marriage to Edward B. Shoemaker June 27, 1951, at First Church of the Nazarene in McConnellstown. She is survived by her husband at home; one son, Donald L. Shoemaker, and his wife, Marilynn, of Huntingdon, R.R. 3; one daughter, Penny L. Miles, and her husband, Wes Sr., of Huntingdon; five grandchildren; Michael Shoemaker, Brian Price, Amy Shoemaker, Heather Miles and Wesley Miles, all of Huntingdon; and one great-grandaughter, Derrick Fultz of Huntingdon. Three brothers, Ronald Miller of Marklesburg, Gary Miller of McConnellsburg and Cloyd Miller Jr. of Marklesburg, and one sister. Debra Wike of McConnellstown, survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin Cunningham and Jim Miller Mrs. Shoemaker was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in McConnellstown. She attended the Woodcock Valley School and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas in 1985 after 35 years of service. Mrs. Shoemaker enjoyed shopping. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. SNYDER, 76, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003. Born in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of Dorothy and Victor Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Snyder. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Wilkinson, and her husband, John, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; grandchildren. Drew. Bonny and Eric John Wilkinson, all of Kalamazoo, Mich.; and Todd Wilkinson of Questa, N.M. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews; Timothy Fitzgerald of New Cumberland; Susan Stanton of Silver Spring, Md.; Don Snyder of Tucson. Ariz.; Donna Stickley of Greenville, Ohio; Deborah Mastromatteo of State College; Patrick Dewey of Remington, Va.; and Barbara Dixon of Huntingdon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Victor, and sisters, Eileen and Louise. Mrs. Snyder was a member of the Fifteenth Street United Methodist Church in Huntingdon. She was a secretary for Brokers Investment Corp. in Richfield, Ohio, until retirement. She was an avid reader, golfer and dog owner. Services will be held at a later date. Interment will be made at Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon.
