Two engines collided on the Huntingdon and Broad Top road last Friday, causing the almost instant death of four men, and the fatal injuring of a fifth, about four miles from Hopewell. The names of the victims are A. P. Decker, engineer of No. 17, and Lewis Coulter, his fireman. Stephen McCahen and Jacob Bowser, the conductors of the several trains, and Jacob Reed, the fireman on No. 18, fatally injured, and died on Sunday. Decker and Coulter were residents of Huntingdon. McCahen and Bowser of Saxton. Hughes, engineer of No. 18, escaped by leaping through the window. Altoona Sun, Altoona, Pa., Friday morning, November 8, 1872
