George Decker, boatman of this place, aged 35 years, died at Pittston, Luzerne 
County on 27th ult. The deceased was in his usual good health, ran his boat 
into the lock, and fell dead while at the snubbing post.

Contributor's Note: George Decker died October 27, 1863.  He was married to 
Nancy Sloan and had the following children, James, Mariah and David Franklin 
Decker. David Franklin was my great-great-grandfather.
