Mrs. Mary Decker, wife of Mr. Nicholas Decker, died at the family residence, on Fifth street, on Tuesday evening, at the venerable age of 86 years. Mrs. Decker was probably the oldest female resident of this city, and was held in highest esteem by all who knew her, and having resided here all her life there were but few who did not know this venerable mother in Israel. For sixty-five years she was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church, and by her daily walk and conversation gave abundant evidence that she was a true follower of the meek and lowly Nazarene. Before the infirmities of age prevented she was a constant attendant on the means of grace, and while health permitted her place in the sanctuary was never vacant. Her life is worthy of emulation. She bore her affliction without a murmur, and with calm resignation awaited the summons that would call her from earth to heaven. Peace to her ashes.
