Howard Decker, of 640 Seventh street, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. Milton Peightal, of 924 Washington street, on Friday, Oct. 4th at 7 p.m. following an illness covering a period of about four years. She had been afflicted with boils and abscesses, together with a complication of diseases during that entire period. She had been with her daughter, Mrs. Peightal during the past year. Mrs. Decker was well and favorably known in Huntingdon and vicinity. She was the daughter of Peter and Sarah Blair Wensel, and was born in Hollidaysburg on Nov. 1, 1846, being aged at time of death, 71 years, 11 months, and 3 days. She was united in marriage to S. Howard Decker, on March 27, 1873, and has resided in Huntingdon since that time. She was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church for many years. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Milton Peightal, at whose home she died, and by one son, Jesse Decker, of Portage, Pa. Altoona Times, Thursday Morning, October 10, 1918
