Dell, 61, of Mapleton Depot R.D. 1, died 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 1978, at his home. Death was unexpected. He was born on April 21, 1916, in Mapleton Depot R.D. 1, the son of Howard M. and Chloe J. (Chilcote) Dell. He married Thelma G. Bolinger on July 7, 1935, in Hagerstown, Md. His wife survives, as well as one son, Ronald A. Dell of Mount Union, and one granddaughter, Caterina, at home. One sister, Mrs. Charles Rosetta Querry of Mapleton R.D. 1, also survives. He was a deacon of the Beech Run Church of the Brethren, Mapleton. An army veteran pf World War II, he was a member of the Mapleton Depot American Legion Post No. 322. He was employed as a shop foreman by Eastern Hardwood of Shirleysburg R.D. and retired from that position in 1972. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, from the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon. The Rev. John N. Johnson will officiate and interment will be made in Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, Cass Township.
