He had gone to Mill Creek that morning on an errand and coming home he walked on the railroad. No person saw him getting struck, but it is supposed that he was walking on the south track and seeing a rain approach stepped over on the north track and was struck by the "Goat." His neck and one arm was broken and he was otherwise badly bruised about the body. He was sober and industrious and was a good citizen. He leaves a wife and one child who are said to be in poor circumstances. Funeral occurred on Saturday. Huntingdon Journal, August 18, 1893
