Jacob Eby died at his home, near Mount Union, Huntingdon County, on Wednesday evening, November 27, 1889, aged 70 years. Mr. Eby was a successful business man and a member of the firm of Morris, Bare & Cass until 1886. Since that time, he has been a partner in the firm of D. M. Bare & Co. He resided in Roaring Spring for a number of years. He was the owner of considerable property in Huntingdon County. He was a kind hearted, generous man, beloved by all who knew him. He was unmarried, and leaves two brothers: George Eby, of Mill Creek, and Samuel Eby of Ardenheim, and two sisters: Mrs. Dutton Madden, of Chester County, and Mrs. D. M. Bare, of Roaring Spring, to mourn his loss. The funeral took place last Friday morning at 10 o'clock and was very largely attended. The deceased left an estate of about $10,000.
