Ergler Sr., 63, of HCR Blacklog Valley, Box 308, Orbisonia, died at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2001, at his home. He died following an extended illness. Private funeral services were held at the convenience of the family at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. Officiating was Rev. Fr. George Koharchik, Rev. Fr. Albert Anselmi and Rev. Rick Eminhizer. Interment was in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery. Born June 3, 1937, in Blacklog Valley, Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Smith) Ergler. He was united in marriage to Sandra (Long) Ergler who survives at their home. Surviving are the following children: Melissa Fleming of Shade Valley, Patricia Corrie of HCR Orbisonia, Donald J. "Joe" Ergler of El Paso, Texas, and Earlene Hampson of Chambersburg. There are nine grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by a brother, Roy Ergler, and an infant sister. Mr. Ergler was a 1955 graduate of Orbisonia High School. He was a former ironworker having belonged to Local 818 of Harrisburg. He was also in the logging and paperwood business for many years. Mr. Ergler was a former member of the Ft. Shirley Lions Club. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed many hunting trips to Montana. He also enjoyed flowers and gardening. The Valley Log, Orbisonia, PA, May 23, 2001
