Mrs. Catherine Ewing of West Township, Petersburg, R. D. 1, died at 2:35 a. m. 
this Thursday morning, October 2, 1952, after being in failing health for a 
number of years.
She was born on January 27, 1870, in Charter Oak, the daughter of George M. 
and Elizabeth (Stine) Rudy.  She was united in marriage to Oliver Ewing, who 
survives.
Mrs. Ewing was a member of the Mooresville Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by the following children:  Mrs. 
Annie Sager and Mrs. Mabel Hoffer of Globe Run, Mrs. Flora Okinsky of 
Philadelphia, Oliver Ewing of Jerome, Russell Ewing of Altoona, Mrs. Isabelle 
Rinker of Mount Union, Mrs. Hazel Pottle of New Orleans, La., and George Ewing 
of Alexandria.  Thirty grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren also survive.  
Mrs. Ewing was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  One 
daughter is deceased.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the late home at Petersburg, 
R. D. 1, with the Rev. Oran Catterson of Mount Union officiating.  Interment 
will be made in Mooresville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the late home after noon Friday.  Grove’s funeral service, 
Alexandria.
