Born May 19, 1940, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of Albert and Edna (Kelly) Everetts, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Paul Harman Nov. 3, 1956. She is survived by her husband in Arcadia, Fla.; one son, Ronald Lee Harman of Arcadia, Fla., two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by a sister, Lillian Fortney of Newton Hamilton. Two brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Harman was primarily a homemaker. She moved to Arcadia, Fla., in 1996 from Bedford, Ohio. There will be no public services or visitation. Alda Margaret WHITSEL, 81, a resident of Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, formerly of HCR 60, Orbisonia, died at 7 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at the retirement center. Born April 24, 1920, in Mifflin County, she was the daughter of Emmanuel and Eva (Colledge) Boozel. She married Paul R. Whitsel Sept. 4, 1937, in McVeytown. Her parents and her husband are deceased, Mr. Whitsel died Oct. 16, 1972. She is survived by four sons and one daughter; Paul E. Whitsel of Stephenville, Texas; Theodore J. Whitsel of Three Springs, R.D.; Ronald L. Whitsel, Patricia M. Berrier and Gregory M. Whitsel, all of HCR 60, Orbisonia, as well as by 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson. Two brothers and three sisters survive; Theodore Boozel of Mount Union, Evelyn Horn of Mount Union, Jenny Lauver of York, Russell Boozel of Hershey and Dorothy Lok of Sacramento, Calif. Mrs. Whitsel was of the Methodist faith. She was primarily a homemaker who enjoyed baking, gardening and her pets. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with Pastor Rick Eminhizer officiating. Interment will be made at Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg, R.D. Edward E, BAUGHMAN, 61, of R.R. 1, Box 74-C, James Creek, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at the James E. Van Zandt VA Hospital in Altoona. Born Sept. 23, 1940, in Roaring Spring, he was the son of Robert W, And Olive (Brown) Baughman. Both parents are deceased. He married Kathryn Imler Dec. 31, 1965, in St. Clairsville. He is survived by his wife; a son, Robert A, Baughman of James Creek; a daughter, Carrie A. Lee of Williamsburg, and two grandsons. Four brothers, Charles, Sam, Bill and Ben Baughman, and two sisters, Donna Lynn and Gail Wise, also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother. Mr. Baughman attended Hesston Community Bible Church. He was the owner and operator of the Circle B campground in the James Creek area. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Western Horizon Camping Resorts. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel, Saxton, with Pastor James L. Blair officiating. Interment will be made in Russellville Reformed Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded. Bonnie Lee (Miller) ANDERS, 69, 302 Juniata Village, Petersburg, died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at her residence. She was born March 13, 1932, in Huntingdon, the daughter of William Leroy and Hazel Viola (Ritchey) Miller. Both parents are deceased. She married Donald L. Anders who preceded her in death Nov. 22, 1968. She is survived by two daughters and one son; Anna Virginia Burke of Temeclula, Calif.; Hazel Myrtle Anders of Petersburg and Terrance Lee "Moe" Anders of Harrisburg, as well as nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Two brothers, William G. and Joseph L. Miller, both of Petersburg, and four sisters; Mrs. Lloyd (Ruth M.) Morningstar of Huntingdon, Audette Kuhn of Elizabethtown, Mrs. Leo (Lorna M.) Evans of Millheim and Mrs. Ronald (Sue Ann) Keller of Petersburg. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Marie Anders, Aug. 6, 1966; a son, Donald Leon Anders, May 14, 1991, and two sisters, Betty Jean Garber and Helen Marie Garber. Mrs. Anders was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Petersburg. she was a former member of the auxiliary at the Petersburg Volunteer Fire Company and the Wiliam P. Spyker American Legion Post No. 520. She attended the former Petersburg Vocational High School. She worked for a long number of years as a certified nurses' aide at Huntingdon Manor and for the Dubbel family. She had also been employed as a bartender at the Petersburg Catering Club. Mrs. Anders resided in Harrisburg for 20 years before moving back to Petersburg in 1977. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Church of the Nazarene, Route 305, Logan Twp., Petersburg, with the Revs. Arthur Roxby and David Bowen officiating. A private interment will be made in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Petersburg. Adrean D, YOHN, 68, of HCR 62, Neelyton, died at 5:06 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Conemaugh Valley Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Aug. 8, 1933, in Lack Twp., Juniata County, he was the son of William and Mildred (Burdge) Yohn, His parents are both deceased. He is survived by his common law wife, Nettie (Palm) Huffman; two sons, Adrean E. Yohn of Lewisberry and David Yohn of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Mildred Piper of Orrstown and five grandchildren. Two brothers, Jay C. and Clair L. Yohn, both of East Waterford, R.R, 1, and two sisters, Helena Neibert of Waynesboro and Shirley Longacre of Port Royal also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gertrude Boone and June Woodal. Mr. Yohn was a U.S. Army veteran. He was self-employed as an upholsterer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, with Pastor Judy Rowles officiating. Interment will be made in East Waterford Cemetery. Marie E. PARKS, 83, 613 Church St., Huntingdon, died at 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at the Woodland Retirement Center, Cromwell Twp. Orbisonia, where she had been residing since Dec. 2001. She was born July 8, 1918, in Blair County, the daughter of John H. and Edna (Querry) Parks, both deceased. She is survived by one daughter, Betty M. Shope of Huntingdon, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A sister, Ruth Davidson of East Stroudsburg, survives. She was preceded in death by one brother, Elwood Parks. Mrs. Parks was a member of the 12th St. United Methodist Church, Twelfth and Mifflin streets, Huntingdon. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Lodge No. 223, Huntingdon. She retired in 1981 from Owens Corning Fiberglas after more than 37 years of service. She held many positions at Owens Corning and retired as a supervisor. A lifelong resident of Huntingdon County, she was a graduate of Saltillo High School, Class of 1935. She resided with her daughter in Huntingdon for the past 15 years before moving to the retirement center. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. she adored her dog, Calobe. Private funeral services will be held at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home, 207 Ridge Road, Smithfield Twp., Huntingdon, with the Rev. Dr. Ruth Ann Campagna officiating. Interment will be made in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Walker Twp. Ronald D. BEAM JR., 29, of Blairs Mills, R.R. 1, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, Md., as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident. Mr. Beam was born May 16, 1972, in Huntingdon. He was married to Penny Lin Armstrong June 30, 2001, at Shade Gap. Mrs. Beam survives at their home. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Ronald D. Sr. and Donna L. Beam, of Alexandria, and his mother and stepfather, John F. and M. Florence (Parsons) Fegan of Shade Gap. Also surviving are two sons; James D. Blair of Altoona, and Brandon B. Beam, at home; one brother, Cary Beam of Alexandria; two sisters; Meghan Casner, Huntingdon, and Kiley Beam of Alexandria; Four step-brothers; John Fegan Jr., Shade Gap; Jason Fegan, Shade Gap; Scott Hearn, Fort Knox, Ky.; Matt Hean, Alexandria; two stepsisters, Julie Papathanasakis, Huntingdon, and Jamie Fegan, Shade Gap. Also surviving are his paternal grandparents, Herbert and Maxine Beam of Alexandria; and maternal grandparents, Kenny and Rose Parsons of Orbisonia, and the late Loretta Parsons. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Mr. Beam attended St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Shade Gap. He was a 2001 Champion Stock car driver at Hesston Speedway, had been a motor cross racer for five years and was currently a mechanic for his son's motor cross effort. He was also an avid hunter. He was the owner/operator of Beam's Directional Boring, Blairs Mills, R.R. 1, for the past two years. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Shade Gap, with the Rev. Ginny Eminhizer and the Rev. Rick Eminhuzer officiating. Mattie Ann COLLINS, 86, of Thompson Road, Needmore, died at 8:54 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg. Mrs. Collins was born April 8, 1915 in Jasper, Tenn., the Daughter of the late Alex and Phyllis (McCollum) Quarles. She was married to Earl Collins Dec. 25, 1932 and he survives at home. Mrs. Collins is survived by two daughters and two sons; Betty Louise Hunter, Luthersburg; Earl Collins Jr., Piedmont, S.C.; Barbara Remaley, Everett, and Melvin Collins, Needmore. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A sister, Carolyn Shewsbury, and two brothers are deceased. Mrs. Collins was a member of the Church of Christ, Berkeley Springs, W.Va. She was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at the M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, with the Rev. Clarence McDowell officiating. Interment will be in Saltillo cemetery, Saltillo. Gary Van RUMLEY, 52, of Savannah, Tenn., died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at his home. Mr. Rumley was the son of W.L. and Alice Talley Rumley of Orbisonia. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rumley is survived by his wife, Connie Sircy Rumley of Savannah, Tenn.; a step-daughter, Christie Gregory of Carthage, Tenn.; and two brothers, Kurt Rumley of Orbisonia, and Neal Rumley of Chase, Mo.; and one step-grandchild. He attended White's Creek Church, and was a member of the Savannah Masonic Lodge 102. He worked as a lock operator for Pickwick Dam and was a U.S. Navy veteran. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 10, in Savannah, Tenn. Interment will be in Prospect Cemetery, Hardin County, Tenn. K. Pauline GUTSHALL, 91, formerly of Huntingdon, R.D. 4, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at her residence at The Forum in Cupertino, Calif. Mrs. Gutshall had been a resident of California since December of 1992. She was born April 11, 1910, in Yeagertown, the daughter of Wendall P. and Kathryn (Swyers) Wear. She was married to Joseph B. Gutshall March 24, 1930, in Rockville, Md., by Rev. Bertram Osgood. Her husband preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1992. She is survived by a son, Thomas L. Gutshall of Los Altos Hills, Calif.; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Wendall W. Wear of Phillipsburg, N.J. Two brothers, Robert and Thomas preceded her in death. Mrs. Gutshall was a member of the Fifteenth Street United Methodist Church of Huntingdon. She was a member of the Wesleyan Crusaders Sunday School Class of her church and served as Sunday School pianist for 40 years and church organist for 15 years. She was a graduate of the Huntingdon High School Class of 1928 and the Sibley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Washington, D.C., Class of 1931. She first worked as a community health nurse in Huntingdon and later for the American Red Cross Nursing Service. She then became an office nurse for Dr. Walter Orthner in Huntingdon and also worked as a nurse at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. She finished her career in the office of Dr. H. Hull Negley Sr. in Huntingdon with 18 years of service, retiring in 1975. Memorial service details will be announced when they have been completed. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Margaret Ruth GUTSHALL, 90, of Pitt Street, Hustontown, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at her home in Taylor Twp., Fulton County. Born Jan. 26, 1912, in Taylor Twp. she was the daughter of David G, and Ida Belle (Rotz) Hershey. She married Grant A. Gutshall May 11, 1940. Both of her parents are deceased, as well as her husband, who preceded her in death May 20, 2001. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter. Two brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death; Paul and Alva Hershey, Rebecca Heeter, Edna Kerlin and Gertrude Reeder. Mrs. Gutshall was a member of the Hustontown United Methodist Church and the Hustontown Area Senior Citizens. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, with Pastors George Clippinger and Chris Elliott officiating. Interment will be made in Hustontown Cemetery. Lawrence E. JAYMES, 71, of 135 W. Garber St., Mount Union, died at 5:35 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at the Woodland Retirement Center in Orbisonia. He had battled with cancer for the past year. Born May 10, 1930, in Allenport, he was the son of Charles and Erma (Murphy) Jaymes. He married Fae Kline Nov. 29, 1957, at the Allenport United Methodist Church Parsonage, with the Rev. Frank Crawford officiating. He is survived by his wife, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Martin (Melanie) Kyper Jr. of Mount Union; one granddaughter and three step-grandchildren. He is survived by four brothers and one sister; Lester Jaymes of Mount Union, R.D. 1; Chester Jaymes of Mount Union, R.D. 1; Glen Jaymes of Silverford Heights, Mount Union, Thelma Arnold of Mount Union and Floyd Jaymes of Huntingdon. He was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Jaymes. Mr. Jaymes attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Mount Union. He was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association. He was a carpenter by trade his entire life, but also worked for several years at Harbison-Walker Refractories, Mount Union, and for 14 years as a custodian at Mount Union Area High School. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and doing home projects. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Robert D. heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Stephen Motter offociating. Interment will be made in Mount Union Cemetery. Charles E. BOONIE Jr. 73, of R.D. 1, Box 784, Petersburg, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at his home. Born Sept. 21, 1928, in Neffs Mills, he was the son of Charles Elmer and Irene Wilson Warefield Boonie. He married Gertrude Mae Bowman Sept. 21, 1950. Both of his parents are deceased, as well as his wife, who preceded him in death July 18, 1979. He is survived by one daughter, Linda Barmasse of Rinard, Iowa; two sons, Kenneth Boonie of Huntingdon and Barry Boonie of Warriors Mark, R.D., and one stepson, James Hommon of Altoona. He is also survived by four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. The following brothers and sisters survive: L. Maxine Deihl of Petersburg; D. Jean Barrett of Johnstown; Wayne E. Boonie of Petersburg, R.D. 1; James L. Boonie of Petersburg, R.D. 1; Mary E. Lightner of Petersburg, R.D. 1, and C. David Boonie of Millheim. Brothers Paul, Carmon and Glenn Boonie preceded him in death. Mr. Boonie was of the Protestant faith. He was a life member of the Shavers Creek Valley Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the American Legion Post No. 150, Petersburg. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and served as a staff sergeant at Fort Monmouth, N.J. He was employed as a truck driver and technician at Centre Concrete Company in State College for 44 years. He enjoyed making woodcrafts, especially birdhouses. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. James Stork officiating. Interment will be made in Mooresville Cemetery, Petersburg, R.D. 1. Reba B. (Weller) Smith ROUDABUSH, 86, of Beverly Healthcare William Penn, Lewistown, formerly of Huntingdon, died at 5:35 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at her current residence, where she had lived since 1996. She had been in declining health for the past two years. Born June 26, 1915, in Entriken, she was the daughter of the late Samuel C. and Laura (Lynn) Weller. She was preceded in death by her two husbands. She is survived by two sons and one daughter; Donald C. Smith of Huntingdon; Larry L. Smith of Huntingdon, R.D. 2, and Mrs. Benjamin (Barbara Frances) Kidd of Lewistown, as well as by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters; James Allen Weller, John Howard Weller, Laura Dorothy (Weller) Barner, Frances Rhoda (Weller) Fouse, Florence (Weller) Heck, Margaret (Weller) Beelman and Minnie (Weller) Stover. Mrs. Roudabush was a member of the Huntingdon and Lewistown Jehovah's Witnesses. She attended public schools in Marklesburg and graduated from Huntingdon High School, Class of 1932. She had previously served on the Huntingdon County Emergency Relations Board and worked as a live-in companion with families in the Lewistown area. "Goose" (Kennedy) CONRAD, 91, of 118 Ridge St., Huntingdon, Smithfield Twp., died at 7:54 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. She had lived at her current residence since 1970. Born July 21, 1910, in Milton, she was the daughter of Allen S. and Elsie Maude (Adams) Kennedy. Both parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Conrad was married June 28, 1935, to Arthur Edwin Conrad at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Altoona. Mr. Conrad preceded her in death July 6, 1978. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth E.) Shea of Huntingdon, and by a son, Donald Carl Conrad of Huntingdon. An infant son preceded in death. Mrs. Conrad is survived by three sisters; Doris Raup of Pleasant Gap; Muriel Tenney of Media; and Maxine Sorge of Altoona. Also surviving are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Conrad was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Huntingdon. She attended Altoona public schools and worked primarily as a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and spending time with family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the John B. Elsie (Novak) TREESE, 93, of 534 W. Second St., Williamsburg, died Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at her residence following a brief illness. She was born May 1,1908, in Czechoslovakia, the daughter of the late Alex and Elsie (Baron) Novak. She married C. Albert Treese Sept. 30, 1933, in Newport. Her husband preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1973. She is survived by two daughters; Barbara A. McGeary of Valrico, Fla., and Nancy F. Neubauer of Barree; One son, Larry A. Treese of Williamsburg, R.R. 2; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Darla K. Neubauer, November 1967, and a sister, Anna Pitcher, August 1996. Mrs. Treese was a member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Sunshine Class and United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Roaring Spring Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and a past member and officer of the former Williamsburg chapter. She was primarily a homemaker but was formerly employed as a paper counter at Westvaco in Williamsburg for nine years. She enjoyed housekeeping, traveling, flowers and gardening. Audrey E. SNARE, 70, of P.O. Box 43, Riddlesburg, died at 9:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona, following an extended illness. She was born Dec. 29, 1931, in Carbon Twp., Huntingdon County, the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Taylor) Houck, both deceased. She married Elvin H. Snare Jr., Sept. 29, 1950, in Scottdale. She is survived by her husband, at home, and the following brothers and sisters; Mr. Donald (Shelby) Black, Six Mile Run; Mrs. Clement (LaDonna) Facchinei, Voorhees, N.J.; Ronald Houck, Wood; Sonja Smith, Hopewell; Mrs. George (Eugenia) Woomer, Riddlesburg; Mrs. Dick (Peggy) Kelly, Six Mile Run; Sylvia Sacratini, Huntingdon; Bonita Houck, Six Mile Run, and Donald Houck, Meyersdale. A number of nieces and nephews survive as well. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Houck. Mrs. Snare was a member of the Six Mile Run United Methodist Church, where she was active with the Faithful Workers. She was a graduate of Robertsdale High School. For 10 years, she worked at the Ames Department Store in Connellsville. She later owned and operated Audrey's AG store in Riddlesburg for 13 years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel, Saxton, with Pastor JoAnne Dugan officiating. Interment will be made in Shellytown Cemetery, Williamsburg, R.D. Robert C. ROHER, 83, of the Allegheny Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Six Mile Run, Died at 2:10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at the home, following a lengthy illness. Born Sept. 19, 1918, in Hopewell, he was the son of Robert Bentley and Rena (Evans) Roher, both deceased. He married Irene Evelyn (Cook) Smith April 26, 1986, in Riddlesburg. He is survived by his wife, in Saxton; two stepdaughters, Judy Foor and Janie Hedge, both of Six Mile Run; nine step-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren and four step-great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother, James Roher of Lansing, Mich. A stepson, Robert Smith, preceded him in death. Mr. Roher attended Riddlesburg Bible Church. He was a member of the Loysburg Lions Club and was a World War II veteran, having served with the United States Air Force. He worked many years for the Pennsylvania Dept. of Highways. Mr. Roher enjoyed fishing and hunting. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel, Saxton, with Pastor Marion Foor officiating. Interment will be made in Hopewell Cemetery, with foull military honors accorded. Elwood Clarence SNYDER, 67, of North Clear Ridge Road, Hustontown, died at 12:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona. Born Jan. 27, 1935, in Fulton County, he was the son of Clarence and Sarah (Hershey) Snyder. Both of his parents are deceased. He is survived by four sisters and two brothers; Rozena M. Duvall of Chambersburg; Betty Hollinshead of Harrisonville; Ruth Hedge of Hustontown, Violet Snyder of Hustontown; Vaughn Snyder of Harrisonville and Walter Snyder of Hustontown. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Snyder was of the Protestant faith. He was last employed at Cowans Gap State Park as a maintenance worker. He had previously worked for the L & B Coal Company, Waterfall, as a heavy equipment operator for several years. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at the M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, with Pastor George Clippinger officiating. Plans for interment are incomplete. Wilmer E. "Mac" McCLAIN, 78, of Montrose Ave., Morgantown, W. Va., died Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002, at his home following a long illness. He was born Dec. 16, 1923, in Everett, the son of the late George Alonzo and Verna Merideth (Laidig) McClain. He married Wilmenia Taylor, who preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Phyllis "Faye" McClain and Wanda Sickles of Morgantown, W.Va., and one grandson. He is survived by two brothers, Hartsel and Ellis McClain, both of Mapleton; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Faye) Stevens of Mapleton, and two half-brothers, Paul Gress of McConnellsburg and Paul Gress of Harrisonville. He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Lena Blanche Gress McClain. Mr. McClain was of the Protestant faith. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Germany. After his discharge from the Army, he worked as a cook for a while and was then employed with McCrory's and Murghy's 5 and 10 before starting with Ben Franklin Stores, where he served as a zone manager. After his retirement in 1988, he was often called back to help out. He loved to travel and took pride in cooking. A funeral service for Mr. McClain was held Feb. 15. Interment was made in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. Joy Marie (Nale) FARROW, 55, of 3063, Emmet Avenue, Huntingdon, died at 2:13 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2002 at her residence. Born Jan. 31, 1947, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of James Henry Nale and Ellen Marie (Thornton) Nale. Both parents preceded her in death. She married Michael B. Farrow Dec. 26, 1991, in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death Dec. 31, 2001. Mrs. Farrow is survived by two sons; James Wallace Blair of Huntingdon R.D. 2, and Michael John Farrow of Huntingdon. a brother, James Alva Nale, a Georgia resident, also survives. Mrs. Nale was of the Catholic faith. She attended the Juniata Valley public schools, graduating in 1964. She also attended Goldey Beacom College in Wilmington, Del. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington St., Huntingdon. Donald C. STONER, 56, of 1350 Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, died at 12:44 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. His death was unexpected. Born Sept. 17, 1945, in Mount Union, He was the son of Mary (Taylor) Stoner of McVeytown, who survives, and the late Charles Stoner. He was united in marriage to Sandra "Sandy" (Cramer) Brouillette March 11, 1983, at the Greenwood United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Glenn Barner. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Sherry A. Baxter of McVeytown, Tammy S. Stoner of Mount Union, Randy L. Stoner of McVeytown, Michael C. Brouillette of York and Jason T. Brouillette of McVeytown, as well as four grandchildren. Three brothers and two sisters survive; James Stoner of McVeytown; Ronald Stoner of Silverford Heights, Mount Union; Gary Stoner of Mount Union, Joan Fleck of Philipsburg and Patty Miller of McVeytown. Mr. Stoner was a member of the Newton Hamilton United Methodist Church. A 1965 graduate of Captain Jack High School, Mount Union. Mr. Stoner was certified in air conditioning and refrigeration and by the Ford Motor Company as an automobile technician. He owned and operated, along with his wife, Stoner's Building and Contracting, McVeytown, and Stoner's Automotive Center, McVeytown. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, antiques and coin collecting. Chestnut St., Rear, Mount Union, died at 9:07 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002, at Huntingdon Manor, following an extended illness. Born May 25, 1917, in Concord, Franklin County, Mrs. Horton, known to friends as Madeline, was the daughter of Roy and Myra (Shearer) Coons, both deceased. She was first married to Kenneth "Bud" Baer and then to Myron Horton, Both husbands preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Wallace "Sonny" Baer of Mount Union, R.D. 2; one grandson and two great-grandsons. A brother and a sister also survive, Lawrence Coons, La Grange Park, Ill., and Rosalie Harman, Mount Union, R.R. 2. She is also survived by three step-children: Janet Cessna of Greenville, Marnie Fields of Three Springs, and C. Blaine Horton of Wood. Eight Step-grandchildren also survive, along with eight step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters; Paul and Berlin Coons, who both died in infancy; Fred Coons, Wilma Warnick, Foster Coons, Lehman Coons and Edna Forshey. Mrs. Horton was of the Methodist faith. She attended Mount Union schools and retired from Gerbo, Huntingdon, where she had worked for a number of years. SLICK, 84, of King St. Clair Rd., Alum Bank, died at 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2002, at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home in Bedford, following an extended illness. Born Oct. 2, 1917, in Roaring Spring, he was the son of Ramey Ward and Cora (Ritchey) Slick, both deceased. He married Gladys M. Dixon Aug. 31, 1943, in Cumberland, Md. He is survived by his wife, at home, and by the following children: Dr. Gregory Slick of Bedford, Dr. Kim J. Slick of Kutztown; Sam Slick of Norristown and Cristy Pomposini of Virginia Beach, Va., as well as by eight grandchildren. Four sisters survive; Doris Slick of Roaring Spring, Rosalind Mowry of Bedford, Eleanor Piper of Cresson and Thelma Ernest of Lilly. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eber Slick, and a sister, Freda Hamilton. Mr. Slick was a member of the Roaring Spring Lutheran Church. He was a 1935 graduate of Morrison's Cove High School and went on to earn a bachelor of science degree in education from Shippensburg University. He later earned a master's degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Slick taught school for several years in Saxton and then became school administrator for the Chestnut Ridge School District, Bedford County, were he served for 35 years before his retirement. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and was a member of the Bedford County Marine Corps League. He was also a member of the Saxton American Legion; a life member of the education associations PSEA, PARS and NEA; Served on the boards of the Bedford County Children and Youth Agency on Aging and was a founding member of the Chestnut Ridge Ambulance Association. He was also a member of the Chestnut Ridge Lions Club, which honored him with the prestigious Melvin Jones Award. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at the D. KELLEY, 63, of Newport, Del., died Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at the VA Hospital following an extended illness. Born Sept. 6. 1939, in Newton Hamilton, he was the son of Harrison A. and Jessie M. (Price) Kelley of Huntingdon. His father is deceased. He is survived by his wife, Joan A. Kelley, at home; His mother, in Huntingdon; a daughter, Jolene Cook of New Castle, and three step-daughters; Cindy Truax, Deborah Bowker and Rose Rodowicz, all of the Wilmington, Del., area. she is also survived by 12 grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters survive; Harold D. Heidel of Lowellville, Ohio; Donald R. Kelley of Windham, N.H.; Judith M. (Kelley) Stringer and Bonnie C. (Kelley) Grose, both of Huntingdon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. One sister, Delores M. Kelley, preceded him in death. Mr. Kelley attended Huntingdon Area High School and served in the U.S. Navy for four years. Nellie (Doswell) Frank SHORE, 80, a resident of the University Park Nursing Home, St. College, formerly of Port Matilda and Bellefonte, died at 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at Centre Community Hospital. She had been a resident of the nursing home for the past 10 years. Born Sept. 12, 1921, in Dothan, Ala., she was the daughter of Andrew and Halie (Holland) Doswell. She was united in marriage to Barton J. Shore Dec. 12, 1942, at Napier Field, Dothan, Ala. Her parents are deceased, as well as her husband, who died March 19, 1998. She is survived by three sons: Jerry C. Shore of State College, Andy J. Shore of Port Matilda and Randy B, Shore to Tyrone, as well as two grandsons, one great-grandson and several relatives in Huntingdon County. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by four sisters and one brother. Mrs. Shore was a member of the Bethany Tabernacle, Enola. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union. She previously worked at the Hosiery Mill in Dothan, Ala., and the Altoona Shoe Factory. Born Oct. 19, 1939, in Huntingdon, he was the son of Joseph L. and Ethel M. (Fritchey) Gates, both deceased. He is survived by three daughters, Cindy F. Gates of Baltimore, Md.; Mary Ann Davis of Mount Joy and Dorothy H. Gates of Harrisburg, as well as two granddaughters. Frances Anne (States) REESE, 70, of McConnellstown, died at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. She was born March 16, 1931, in Warriors Mark, the daughter and only child of the late Robert Carl and Helen (Henry) States of Spruce Creek Valley. She married Elwood L. Reese Sept. 7, 1950, in Kent, Ohio. She is survived by her husband, at home; one daughter, Dixie Lee Hammers of James Creek; Two sons, Elwood L. Reese Jr. of Warriors Mark and Cliff Reese of Pittsburgh, as well as five grandchildren. Mrs. Reese was valedictorian of her graduating class at Tyrone High School, and went on to be an honors graduate from Pennsylvania State University, where she later received her master's degree in education. She taught school in Huntingdon for 34 years. After retiring from teaching, she enjoyed giving piano lessons at her home. She was an organist who enjoyed playing for morning worship services at many churches in the Huntingdon area. She was a musican of a local band, "The Ambasadors" for several years and provided music for numerous weddings. Mrs. Reese valued her many friends from her music experiences and found comfort in her students and music. KLOBETANZ, 30, of Shade Gap, died at 12:53 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Altoona Hospital. He died as a result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident late Sunday evening, Feb. 17, in Cromwell Twp., Huntingdon County. He was born April 15, 1971, in McConnellsburg, the son of Joseph and Margaret (Klobetanz) Snyder. He married the former Sara J. Traxler March 13, 1996, in West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, at home; his father; his mother and step-father, Donald Snyder, of Neelyton, and three stepchildren; Helen Tart of Neelyton and Amber Keefer and Luke Traxler, both of Shade Gap. "Bert" TAYLOR, 83, of 304 Moose St., Clearlield, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Clearfield Hospital, Clearfield, He was born Sept. 30, 1918, in Clearfield, the son of Voyle L. and Lena B (Koozer) Taylor, both deceased. He married Margaret B. "Peggy" (Bookhamer) Taylor of Huntingdon Jan. 4, 1950. He is survived by his wife; David Irwin, whom the couple reared, and two grandchildren. A sister, Erma Beauseigneur of Clearfield, and a brother, David Taylor of St. Louis, Mo., survive, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Kenneth, Henry, Lee and Laurence Taylor, and one sister, Donna Daisher. Mr. Taylor was a member of the Goshen United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Army Air-corps veteran and a member of the John Lewis Shade Post No. 6, American Legion, and the Frenchville Leigey Renaude Post No. 8386, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Clearfield BPOE Lodge No. 540 and the Mosqauito Creek Sportsman's Association. He retired from the former Conrail Railroad in 1979, and was a life member of the United Transportation Union. (Starr) McMULLEN, 91, formerly of Shade Valley and Path Valley, and more recently of the Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg, died at 9:10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital. Born Feb. 18, 1911, in Tell Twp., Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of Simon and Rebecca (Silverthorne) Starr, both deceased. She married Jacob A. McMullen June 23, 1931, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shade Gap, R.D. Her husband preceded her in death Oct. 5, 1991. She is survived by four children; Helen Hunter of Philadelphia, Magdalen Corley of Mesa, Ariz., and Paul McMullen and Jane Crouse, both of Chambersburg. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A son, Leo McMullen preceded her in death. Mrs. McMullen, was the last surviving member of her immediate family of 10 children. HARTZLER, 91, of Valley View Haven, Union Twp., Belleville, died at 1:35 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Valley View Haven. Born Jan. 24, 1911, in Long Green, Md., she was the daughter of John M. and Anna M. (King) Hartzler, both deceased. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters; Harold, John M. and C. Clayton Hartzler, Eva Ruth Hartzler, Carrie Dodd and an infant sister. Ms. Hartzler was a member of the Maple Grove Mennonite Church. She was a graduate of Penn State University, earning a bachelor of Science degree in 1946, and a master's degree in 1948. HOCKENBERRY, 74, of Walker Twp., Huntingdon, R.D. 1, died at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, at Valley View Haven, Belleville, after several years of declining health. Born Feb. 16, 1928, in Altoona, he was the son of Jobie M. and Margaret (Horner) Hockenberry, both deceased. He wed Ruth Bickle Dec. 21, 1946, in Hollidaysburg, with the Rev. Ralph Illingsworth Presiding. He is survived by his wife, at home; a daughter, Donna H. Gibboney of Belleville; two sons, Robert E. Hockenberry of Petersburg and David B. Hockenberry of Huntingdon, as well as five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Two sisters and two half-brothers survive; Esther J. Chesney of Dunncansville, Shirley E. Zerbe of State College and Charles and Jobie Hockenberry, both of Dysard. Mr. Hockenberry was a member of Upper Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church. He served as private first class from July 1945 to October 1946, with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific Theatre of Operations during World War II. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post No. 779, Centre Hall and member and past commander of VFW Post No. 5825, Pine Grove Mills. He was also a member of BPOE Lodge No. 976, Huntingdon; State College Lodge No. 700, F&AM; Consistory of Altoona; Jaffa Shrine and Jaffa Cycle Corps, where he was also past president, and Huntingdon County Shrine. He was also past president of Bricklayers Local No. 19, Williamsport. Mr. Hockenberry was a 1945 graduate of Altoona Area High School. For many years, he worked as a bricklayer and stone mason with Bricklayer Local No. 19, retiring in 1976. Following his retirement, he and his son, Robert, owned and operated Landscape Design Associates. He was active as a landscape architect until 1990. He had resided at his Walker Twp. home since 1990. Previously, he had lived in Tyrone for 12 years and Franklinville for 20 years. Paul Thomas DEFIBAUGH, 49, of Broad Top, died unexpectedly at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born in Huntingdon Feb. 5, 1953, he was the son of Paul and Laura Mae (Rinard) Defibaugh, both deceased. He is survived by two sons, Charles Defibaugh of Robertsdale and Matthew Defibaugh of Todd, and one granddaughter. Five brothers and three sisters survive; Larry Defibaugh of Martinsburg, Duane Defibaugh of Chambersburg, Kenneth Defibaugh of Pittsburgh, James Defibaugh of James Creek, Stanley Defibaugh of Coalmont, Mary Souders of Mount Union, Cathy Worthy of Maryland and Sally Bathavic of Shippensburg. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Sue Defibaugh, as well as two infant sisters. Mr. Defibaugh was retired as a chief petty officer in the United States Navy, where he earned numerous medals and awards and served on several different naval ships during 22 years of service. He was a 1971 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and a life member of the Saxton Volunteer Fire Company and the Saxton VFW. He also held memberships with the Saxton Sportsman Association, Fraternal Order of Eagles of Broad Top and the Goose Creek, N.C., American Legion 40 and 8 club. He enjoyed fishing. Interment will be made in Evans Cemetery, with full military honors accorded. Herbert KELLER, 89, of Laurel Crest Manor, Ebensburg, formerly of Huntingdon, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2002, at the manor. Born Nov. 15, 1912, in Johnstown, he was the son of Ludwig and Elizabeth (Hoppe) Keller. He married the former Janet L. Pugh. His parents and wife preceded him in death. He is survived by three brothers and one sister, Frank, Albert and John Keller and Meta Fisseler, as well as several nieces and one nephew. Mr. Keller was a life member of Zion Lutheran Church. Evelyn Grace (Kennedy) ROMINE, 78, of 409 Ninth St., Deforrest Apts., Huntingdon, died at 10:35 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Huntingdon Manor, Huntingdon, following a brief illness. She was born Nov. 9, 1923, in Wertz, the daughter of Ernest and Anna Hearn (Baker) Kennedy. She had formerly been married to Harry B. Romine who preceded her in death in 1995. Their marriage took place Aug. 31, 1946, at the Abbey Reformed Church (now United Church of Christ) Huntingdon. She is survived by her only living relative, an aunt, Martha E. Thompson of James Creek, and her companion, Bursey B. Garner of Huntingdon. Mrs. Romine was preceded in death by a sister, Laurabelle Kennedy Cornpropst, and her grandmother, Laura Krieger Hearn, who resided with her family. She was a member of the Abbey Reformed United Church of Christ in Huntingdon. She was also a member of the Standing Stone Senior Citizens, Huntingdon. Mrs. Romine was a graduate of Huntingdon High School in the Class of 1942. She had resided in Huntingdon at various times throughout her life and returned to Huntingdon permanently in 1989. She had been a Avon salesperson for 25 years and worked as a waitress at the M&M Restaurant for a number of years. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Master Sgt. James K. KEPPLE, 61, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at his home. He was born Sept. 27, 1940, in Johnstown, the son of Robert and Mildred (Benschoff) Kepple, both deceased. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Hamblin) Kepple; Two sons, Kenneth and Charles Kepple; a daughter, Nancy (Kepple) Wright, as well as six grandchildren. He is survived by two brothers, David and Terry Kepple, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Kepple. Master Sqt. Kepple, a 1958 graduated of Johnstown High School, served in the United States Army from October 1958 to June 1980, with several tours of duty in Europe and Vietnam. After his retirement from the U.S. Army, he was employed several years by the State Correctional Institution Huntingdon. ATHERTON, 59, of Mount Union, R.D. 1, died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, following a lengthy illness. Born July 31, 1942, in Lucy Furnace, Wayne Twp., Mifflin County, he was the son of Roy James and Thelma Mae (Woodward) Atherton, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Shelby J. Price March 7, 1964. He is survived by his wife, at home; two daughters, Holly J. Atherton of Germantown, Md., and Tracey L. Cook of Alexandria and one granddaughter. Mr. Atherton was a member of Cedar Crest-Lucy Furnace Chapel. He was a 1960 graduate of Mount Union Area High School and served with the U.S, Army from May 1960 until May 1963. He was a member and president of the United Paperworkers Local, a member of the National Rifle Association and formerly a member of the Huntingdon Moose Lodge. Retired on disability September 1999 from Mead Consumer and Office Products after 17 years of service, he was previously employed by Gerbo Footwear, Huntingdon, and Viscose Corporation, Lewistown. Joseph MEMMI, 87, of HC 73, Three Springs, died at 5:20 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia. Born Jan. 20, 1915, in Filetto, Italy, he was the son of Gomenico and Grazia (Facchinci) Memmi, both deceased. He married Ruth H. Bascom March 27, 1945, in Kenmore, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, at Home; six daughters; Grace A. Ellis, Clinton, Md.; Julie M. Berkstresser, Harrisonville; Anita R. Greenland, Three Springs; Diane L. Sekula, Newburg; Della B. McClure, York; Pamela L. Memmi, Manteo, N.C.; one son, Charles D. Memmi, HC 73, Three Springs, 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was retired from United Airlines after 28 years of service as an airline mechanic at Washington National and Dulles airports. He enjoyed flying very much, having obtained his private pilot's license and instructor's rating. Orvis G. SNOOK, 83, of 129 W. Milford St., Mount Union, died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born Feb. 16, 1919, in Mapleton, he was the son of Jacob and Ada (Snook) Snook. He was united in marriage to Beatrice Mae Cox Oct. 5, 1946. She preceded him in death Jan. 8. 2001. He is survived by a daughter, Diane Wilkinson of Mount Union, as well as six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly A. Keaster, and the following brothers and sisters; Berna Metz, Dorothy Uttley, Edith Stapleton, Esther Stapleton, William Snook and Ambrose Snook. Mr. Snook attended the First United Methodist Church, Mount Union. He served with the U.S. Army as a staff Sergeant in central Europe during World War II, with Headquarters Company, 3rd Battalion, 399th Infantry Regiment. He entered the military May 14, 1941, and served until Oct. 29, 1945, having received the following decorations: Bronze Star, Good Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, American Theatre Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. He was a life time member of the VFW Post No. 5754, Mount Union. He retired after 35 years of service from Conrail, formerly the Pennsylvania Railroad, in 1983, where he worked as a line foreman for the track division. Mr. Snook enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Robert D. KURTZ, 83, of Millersburg, formerly of Harrisburg, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at Harrisburg Hospital. Born Sept. 5, 1918, in Huntingdon, he was the son of James M. and Verna Mae (Corbin) Kurtz. He is survived by three sons; Ronald W. Kurtz of New Cumberland; James M. Kurtz of Millersburg and Blaine P. Kurtz of Camp Hill, as well as six grandchildren. A brother, William Kurtz of Huntingdon, also survives. Mr. Kurtz was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Sutliff Chevrolet in Harrisburg, where he worked as a mechanic, and was a avid fian of country music. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 1, at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, with full military honors accorded. Dr. Radford C. LOCKE, 81, Huntingdon, formerly of Orbisonia, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at the Jupiter Medical Center, Jupiter, Fla. Born Feb. 25, 2002, in Orbisonia, he was the son of the late Dr. Howard V. and Mayme (Comerer) Locke. He was married first to Elinor Huston, and then Audrey Greathead, McConnellsburg. Both preceded him in death. He is survived by the following children; Howard Van Locke II, Mechanicsburg; Diane Woodward, Huntingdon; Paula Darby, Shippensburg; and Lyn Locke, Davidsonville, Md. He is also survived by one sister, Gwen Gibson, Towson, Md.; one brother, Howard V. Locke Jr., Fayetteville, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Dr. Locke was a former member of the United Methodist Church, Orbisonia, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and leader. In addition, he served as a member on various church boards. Dr. Locke was a dentist in the Orbisonia and McConnellsburg areas for over 50 years. He taught at many dental conventions and conducted seminars throughout the country, and he was highly reguarded by his peers. In addition, for many years he served as the school dentist for the Orbisonia and Saltillo school district. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a captain of the United States Air Force. He was a graduate of Mercersburg Academy, Temple University and Franklin and Marshall College. When the Community State Bank of Orbisonia opened Jan. 10, 1951, Dr. Locke was one of the directors and incorporators of the bank, which he remained active for many years. Over the years, he was involved in and supported many organizations such as the Orbisonia Lions Club, the Masonic Lodge, and many professional organizations such as the Huntingdon County Dental Association. He was a member of the Orbisonia Deer Camp. He was an avid hunter, gardener, fisherman and golfer. Additionally, he enjoyed traveling. Cynthia Mae (McCafferty) McBRIDE, 91, of 283 Washington St., P.O. Box 132, Petersburg, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born July 25, 1910, at the family homestead in Petersburg, she was the daughter of James and Minnie (Stevens) McCafferty, both deceased. She is survived by two daughters; Cynthia M. Ault of Boalsburg and Loretta M. Cox of New Cumberland; Five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by one sister, Ruth (McCafferty) Harris of Tennessee, and one brother, William McCafferty of Florida. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen M. Lightner, one granddaughter and two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. McBride was a member of Crever Memorial United Methodist Church, Petersburg. She attended Petersburg public schools and graduated from Petersburg Vocational High School with the Class of 1929. She was employed by the J.C. Blair Company and its successors, Westab and Mead Products, from 1942 until her retirement in 1975. She had lived at her current address since birth. "Pat" HARPER, 68, of 409 Hancock St., Northwood, Tyrone, died at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Tyrone Hospital following an extended illness. She was born April 6, 1933, in Tyrone, the daughter of John M. Sr. and Edith K. (Miller) Gillmen. She was united in marriage to Richard D. Harper Dec. 26, 1959, at the Tyrone Assembly of God Church. Her husband preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1982. She is survived by four children; Rodney Harper of Northwood, Tyrone; Randal Harper of Alexandria; Mrs. Mohammed (Cindy) Myers Rahali of Northwood, Tyrone, and Susan Harper of Northwood, Tyrone, as well as five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One sister and one brother survive; Louise Delozier of Northwood, Tyrone, and William E. Gillmen of York. Mrs. Harper attended Northwood Baptist Chapel. She was a graduate of Tyrone High School and was employed by the environmental services department for Tyrone Borough at the borough building. Interment will be made in Blair Memorial Park. Bruce Russell "Dusty" RHODES, 66, of Millstone Trailer Park, Mill Creek, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in Los Angeles, Calif. Born Feb. 6, 1936, in McVeytown he was the son of Melvin Paul and Madeline Mary (Himes) Rhodes, both deceased. He married Mary Ann Gladfelter May 3, 1964. He is survived by his wife, at home; three children; Sandra K. Rhodes of Mill Creek, Robert P. Rhodes of Huntingdon and Debra A. Shetrom of Huntingdon, and six grandchildren. Eight brothers and sisters survive; Paul and James Rhodes, both of Manheim; Lorna Taylor of Three Springs, Donald Rhodes of Mount Union, Lewis Rhodes of Cassville, Betty Bilger of Mill Creek, Helen Sunderland of McVeytown and Alvin Rhodes of McVeytown. Mr. Rhodes attended heritage Baptist Church in McConnellstown. He was employed as a truck driver for the past 34 years, working for Zimmerman Truck Lines Inc. of Mifflintown for the past 14 years. Mary Namomi (Shubert) WESTBROOK, 85, of Meadowview Manor Retirement Center, McVeytown, formerly of Huntingdon, died at 5:57 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2002, at the manor following an extended illness. She was born March 25, 1916, in Martinsburg, the daughter of David Herbert and Grace Edna (Lehman) Shubert, both both deceased. She married F. Glenn Westbrook, who preceded her in death Aug. 10. 1997. She is survived by one son, F. Stanley Westbrook of Mount Union, and two grandchildren. A brother, Kenneth Shubert of McVeytown, survives. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister, Richard Shubert and Virginia Hagmeier. Mrs. Westbrook was once a member of Huntingdon Presbyterian Church; In later years, she transferred to Mount Union Presbyterian. She was educated in Martinsburg public schools and graduated from Martinsburg High School and from the Altoona School of Commerce. She worked as a secretary for Drs. Hutchinson, Steel and Smith in Huntingdon and retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare. Mrs. Westbrook enjoyed entertaining friends and family and was an avid bridge player. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Mary HAYDUK, 81, of 608 N. Jefferson St., Mount Union, died at noon Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital. She had been in failing health. Born April 2, 1920, in Mount Union, she was the daughter of Wasyl and Mary (Potochniak) Kosack, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Michael M. Hayduk Aug. 23, 1941, at St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Mount Union. She was preceded in death by her husband Aug. 5, 1997. She is survived by one son and four daughters: Michael J. Hayduk of Greer, S.C.; Mrs. Bob (Patricia) Moore, Alta Monte Springs, Fla.; Mrs. Terry (Rebecca) Stoner of Altoona; Mrs. Steve (Bernadette) Kroecker of Titusville, Fla., and Mrs. Bryan (Mary) Pollock, of McVeytown, R.D. 1, as well as 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Two sisters survive, Mrs. Kathryn Meloni of Lewistown and Mrs. Ross (Julia) Madden of Mount Union. She was preceded in death by a grandson and the following brothers and sisters; Anna Abrashoff, John "Cutty" Kosack, Wasyl "Sake" Kosack and Metro J. Kosack. Mrs. Hayduk was a member of St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Mount Union, and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She and her husband owned and operated Hayduk's Bar and grill in Mount Union for 25 years, until their retirement in 1984. Mrs. Hayduk enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. Rosemary Waite ANDERS, 73, Water Street, Alexandria R.R., died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at the Tyrone Hospital, Tyrone, following a brief illness. Born Feb. 8, 1929, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of Eugene Earnest and Huberta Treharne Waite. She was married to Jack D. Anders April 4, 1947, at Berryville, Va. Mr. Anders survives at their home. Surviving are three sons, Robert "Sam" Anders, Thomas W. Anders and Kevin M. Anders, all of Water Street; one daughter, Melissa "Susie" Franchio, Mt. Holly, N.J., and six grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Gordon T. Waite, Water Street and Eugene Waite, Altoona. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Lou; an infant son, Jack C.; and one grandchild. Mrs. Anders was an active member of the Democratic Party. She was a charter member of the Shaffersville Historical Society. An avid reader, she also enjoyed painting. She painted the mural at the Shaffersville Schoolhouse. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, Alexandria and had worked at Elco in Huntingdon and Alcoa in Tyrone. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bruce E. Patricia Ann MORT, 62, of 1374 Main St., Six Mile Run, died unexpectedly at 1 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at her residence. She was born April 8, 1939, in Robertsdale, the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Thomas) Skvarka of Robertsdale. She was united in marriage to Victor C. Mort July 26, 1958, in Winchester, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband May 26, 1989. She is survived by her parents; Two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Tammy) Karns and Mrs. Mark (Amy) Shope, both of Six Mile Run, as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and four sisters: Richard L. Skvarka of Carlisle, Joseph Skvarka and Helen Foreman, both of Chambersburg; Marilyn Weist of Breezewood; Carolyn Matthews of Wood and Theresa Minnick of Dudley. Mrs. Mort was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Dudley. She was a 1957 graduate of Robertsdale High School and gave 35 years of service to the U.S. Postal Service before retiring in July 2001. She last served as postmaster in Wood for nine years. Mrs. Mort was a member of the National League of Postmasters, the Retired Postmasters Association and NAPUS. Additionally, she was a member of the Six Mile Run Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed her family and her grandchildren. Interment will be made in Duvall Cemetery, Six Mile Run. Robert LeRoy BRENNEMAN, 76, of 211 S, Ninth St., Smithfield Twp., Huntingdon, died at 8:23, p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital, Lewistown. Mr. Brenneman had been critically ill since Feb. 18. Born May 20, 1925, in Huntingdon, he was the son of Ernest W. and Edith Pauline (Henderson) Brenneman, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Edna Jenn Hawn April 21, 1956, at First United Methodist Church, Huntingdon, by the late Rev. G. Cecil Weimer. He is survived by his wife, at home, as well as two grandsons and one great-grandson. He is also survived by one brother, Joseph R. Brenneman of Huntingdon, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death on one brother, Richard E. Brenneman Sr. Mr. Brenneman was a member of First United Methodist Church, Huntingdon, were he served as one of the head ushers for many years, was a member of Methodist Men and where he formerly served as chairperson of the church's administrative board. He was an honorary member of Standing Stone Post No. 24 American Legion, both in Huntingdon. He was educated in the public schools of Huntingdon, graduating from Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1943. Mr. Brenneman was a World War II veteran, inducted into the United States Navy Aug. 24, 1944, and honorably discharged Aug. 17, 1946, with the rating of Yeoman Second Class. He served aboard the USS Kermit Roosevelt (ARG 16). During his service time, he received the Pacific Theatre Ribbon, the American Theatre Ribbon and the Victory Medal. He was the owner of Brenneman's Meat Market in Smithfield Twp., retiring in 1998, after 53 years. Mr. Brenneman loved people and had a host of friends. Special to him were his grandsons and great-grandson. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at the First United Methodist Church, Fifth and Mifflin streets, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Doyle H. Klinger J. officiating. Interment will be made in Mooresville Cemetery, West Twp., Petersburg, R.D. 1, with full military honors accorded.
