Mr. Fetterhoof had been in his usual health and walked out to the barn. He complained of a strange feeling in his throat and returning to the house expired in a few moments. Deceased was born September 9th, 1836, and passed almost all his life at the old homestead. He was a member of the Lutheran church at Waterstreet. As a member of Company M of the Ninth Pennsylvania cavalry he served in the Civil war from October 24, 1861, to December 24, 1864, in the western army, and was an excellent soldier. Captain James Bell, of Tyrone, commended the company from December 31, 1861, to May 25, 1863, when he was discharged on surgeon's certificate, then Captain Thomas S. McCahan, of Birmingham, succeeded to the command of the company, and was discharged on account of severe wounds on the 8th of August, 1864. In March, 1867, Mr. Fetterhoof was united in marriage with Miss Sue Chamberlain, of Warriorsmark, and she with the following children are still living: Mrs. Edward Neff, Warriorsmark; Mrs. C. Henry, Waterstreet; Clare, James, Alice, Edgar Chester and Alma, at home. The following sisters and brothers survive: Mrs. Mary Shaffer, Shaffersville; Mrs. T. K. Henderson, Warriorsmark; George, Spruce Creek; John, Tyrone; Jesse, Warriorsmark; and William of Huntingdon. The funeral was held at Alexandria, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock.
