Fields, the father of Alber [sic] Fields, of this city, died at his home at Mt. Union, on Wednesday evening after an illness of several weeks with stomach trouble. Deceased was born in 1847 and had lived all his life in Mt. Union and vicinity. He at one time worked on the old Pennsylvania canal and later was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad company. He was a member of the Methodist church and is survived by four children: Albert, of Altoona; Edward, of Harrisburg; Mrs. A. J. DeFrehn, of Johnstown; and rank, at home. The funeral will take place this afternoon and interment will be made in Mt. Union. Morning Tribune, January 21, 1911
