We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ Two separate obituaries for George Washington Flasher: George Washington Flasher, a highly respected citizen and farmer died at his home near Three Springs, Pa., Sunday evening, July 22, 1923, after an illness of about six months. Deceased moved with his parents Jacob and Christine Flasher from Duncannon, Perry Co., to Cromwell Township when he was about five years old. He was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Painter, of Cromwell Township on December 1, 1872. Mr. Flasher was aged 70 years and attended the United Brethren Church of Three Springs, Pa. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. E. H. Hammond, Mrs. T. W. Baron, Samuel Flasher, Albert Flasher, Harry Flasher, Joseph E. Flasher, all of Three Springs, Pa.; and Vinton Flasher, of Mount Union, Pa. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at the home at 9:30 and at the United Brethren Church of Three Springs at 10:30, in charge of Rev. E. B. Stergeon, of the United Brethren Church of Three Springs. Internment will be made in the family plot in the Three Springs cemetary in charge of Funeral Director W. P. Dunmire. George Washington Flasher, a retired farmer of Cromwell township, near Pogue, died on last Sunday from a complication of diseases, at age of 70 years, leaving to survive him his wife, and the following children: S.J. Flasher, H.M. Flasher, and Joe Flasher, all of Three Springs; Mrs. T. B. Barron, A.J. Flasher, Vinton Flasher, and Mrs. E. H. Hamman, all of Cromwell township, and Mrs. Brown, of Pitcairn, Pa. Mr. Flasher was a resident of Cromwell, all his life, and was the son of Jacob Flasher, deceased, and at his death owned a large part of the old homestead, where he resided at the time of his death. Mr. Flasher was engaged mostly in farming for the past 30 years. The community has lost a good and useful citizen, the family a kind and loving husband, father, and friend. Peace to his ashes. The funeral was conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. F. Sturgeon, of the United Brethren Church, of this place on Wednesday morning, after which the body was laid to rest in the Three Springs cemetery.
