Flood, Chambersburg RD 9, formerly of Lebanon, died Friday in the Hershey Medical Center. He was 59 and had been ill for a week. Prior to leaving the Lebanon area about two years ago to reside in the Chambersburg area, he was employed as a custodian at Lebanon Valley College. Since residing in the Chambersburg area he was employed in a custodial capacity by the Chambersburg School District. A native of Blairs Mills, Huntingdon County, he was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in that community. He is survived by his wife, the former Seija Ikola; four children, Catherine, wife of Paul Brewer, Honey Grove RD1, Pa.; Paul, Jonestown RD 1; Kenneth, Elyria, Ohio, and Sherry Piper, at home, and his mother, Mrs. Marie Flood, Lebanon. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren and four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Shay and Mrs. Gladyce Seubert, Lebanon; Mrs. Leone Reedy, Jonestown, and Mrs. Louise Vanasdalan, Myerstown. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Emma Irvin. He was also preceded in death by his father, Jackson Flood. His first was my Grandmother Mary Catherine Ridenour Bray. (Grandpa was her second spouse.) Sherry was a step-daughter from his marriage to Seija "Susie".
