Flood, 87, of Shade Gap, died Sunday afternoon, October 28, 1973, at the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. A native of Nossville, he was born April 19, 1886 to Henry and Matilda (Briggs) Flood. Twice married, his first wife, the former Alice Arment, died in 1934 and his second spouse, the former Beulah Querry, preceded him in death in 1961. Surviving are three children, Charles, Miami, Fla; Henry, Rockaway, N.J.; and Mrs. Jane Montgomery, Shade Gap. There are two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Flood was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a member of the Lower Path Valley Presbyterian Church of Fannettsburg where he had served as an elder for a number of years. He had formerly belonged to the Path Valley Lions Club. The deceased was a retired postmaster at Neelyton, where he had owned and operated a general store at Fannettsburg. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, at the John Agett funeral home in Dry Run. The Rev. Bruce Shannon and the Rev. Robert McClure will officiate and interment will be made in the Upper Path Valley Cemetery near Dry Run. Friends will be received at the funeral home tonight after 7 p.m. until time for the services on Wednesday. It is requested that flowers be omitted.
