All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm _______________________________________________ ANNABELLE LOUISE FOSTER Annabelle Louise Foster, 82, of 5093 Shavers Creek Road, Petersburg, died Monday, September 25, 2006 at 5:27 a.m. at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. She was admitted to the Medical Center on September 14 after suffering a fall at her home the previous day. Death was due to the complications from the fall. Born February 6, 1924 in Porter Township, one of nine children born to the late David Franklin and Lulu Viola (Locke) Hammond. She married John A. Foster Sr. on March 7, 1941. Mr. Foster preceded her in death on September 19, 2001. She is survived by a daughter, Dixie Wensel and her husband Stanley of Petersburg; a son, John A. Foster Jr. and his wife Alice of Petersburg; two sisters, Cecile Mae Port of Petersburg and Joyce Georgia Elizabeth Burkett of Tyrone; eight grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gracie (Foster) Betts; two sisters, Vera Maude Brenneman and Rena Catherine Hoffer and four brothers, William Alfred, Lester David, John Richard and Roy Alfred Hammond. She was retired after serving as a housekeeper for various private families in State College. She and her late husband are also remembered as owner-operators of Globe Run Farm, Shavers Creek Valley. She was a member of the Oasis of Love Church, Huntingdon and was active in the Shavers Creek Grange, the Huntingdon County and Pennsylvania Holstein Associations, was a board member of the Mooresville Cemetery Association and served as Judge of Elections in West Township. Mrs. Foster was also remembered as an excellent cook. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips west with her brother John Hammond and bus trips to various locations. She liked doing puzzles, games with grandchildren, Yahtzee and word search puzzles. She was particularly fond of children, her pets, birds and animals. She enjoyed gardening and working with her flower gardens. Her family, children and grandchildren, were of special love and importance to Annabelle. She will be remembered as a special, kind and gracious lady by all those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Foster was educated in the Shaffer's Bridge and Petersburg schools. She was a lifetime resident of Shavers Creek Valley and Huntingdon County. Family and friends will be received at the Oasis of Love Church, 10991 Station Road, Huntingdon from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2006. Family and friends are invited to the funeral service to be held at the Oasis of Love Church 10991 Station Road, Huntingdon on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 11 a.m. Rev. Myrna Y. Speck will officiate. Interment to be at Mooresville Cemetery, West Township, Petersburg. Shavers Creek Grange No. 353 will hold a memorial service at the Oasis of Love Church, 10991 Station Road, Huntingdon at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2006. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oasis of Love Church, 10991 Station Road, Huntingdon, Pa. 16652.
