Frederick, 79, of Trough Creek Valley Pike, Huntingdon, died at 4:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 2009, at the Huntingdon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Huntingdon. Born Feb. 24, 1930, in Tyrone Township, Blair County, he was a son of the late Howard R. and Mary (Fox) Frederick. He married the former Ruth Ann Buckreis April 11, 1953, in St. Mary’s Church, Altoona. Mrs. Frederick survives at their home. Mrs. Frederick is also survived by four children, Robert T. Frederick and Richard D. Frederick, both of Cassville; Jeffrey M. Frederick and wife Paula, Altoona; and Donna E. Conrad and husband, Paul, Butte, Mont.; eight grandchildren, Matthew Frederick, Courtney Frederick, Rachel Conrad, Curtis Conrad, Stephanie Conrad, Brad Campbell, Jason Campbell and wife Melody, and Kellie Ott and husband, Joe; and six great-grandchildren, Keven Campbell, Emma Campbell, Jeremy Campbell, Josh Campbell, Katie Ott and Damien Ott. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa Campbell; a granddaughter, Rebecca Anne Frederick; and four brothers, Richard Fox, Ernest Frederick, Harold Frederick and H. Eugene Frederick. Mr. Frederick was a member of the Cassville Lutheran Church. During his life, he worked on the family farm and logging business. He retired in 1993 from US Silica, Mapleton, after 27 years of service. Prior to that, he was employed at the former United Home Dressed Meats, Altoona. Mrs. Frederick was an avid hunter and a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, Cassville, with the Rev. Fred Ruby officiating. Interment will be made in the Cassville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, and one hour prior to services Saturday.
