Gill, a Civil war veteran, died at his home in Grafton, Pa., last Snuday [sic] evening. He was the son of Robert and Lydia Gill and at the time of death was aged 80 years, 3 months and 1 day. His wife, who was Miss Annie C. Stover, and ten children survive - Mrs. Clara Meritts, of Mount Union; Frank, James and Andrew, of near Gallitzin; Wesley, Kansas City, M.; John, of Mill Creek; Clement and Mrs. Mary Whitecotton, of Huntingdon; Mrs. Lydia Green, of McConnellstown, and Mrs. Cora Schell, of Aitch, Pa. Thirty-six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, making the fifth generation of descendants, also survive. He was a member of the Reformed church and was an exemplary Christian. The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. Woomer, of Huntingdon, with services at the late home.
