Wesley Gilland, a brakeman on the Huntingdon and Broad Top coal trains, was instantly killed in Huntingdon on Wednesday about 1 o'clock. He was standing upon the platform of the rear car, and while the train was backing up on the Pennsylvania siding, a sudden jar of the car threw him off, and falling upon the track car passed over him, completely severing his head from his body. Mr. Gilland was a sober, industrious young man, twenty three or twenty five years of age. He was a volunteer in the three months service under Captain Miller.
