Mr. Henry Glazier, one of Huntingdon's oldest citizens, died at his residence, corner of Third and Washington streets, a few minutes after twelve o'clock Sunday morning, after an illness of about a fortnight, at the patriarchal age of 82 years. The deceased was born in Huntingdon, July 1, 1806, and having learned the trade of a potter in the shop of his father, in 1831 he commenced the manufacture of stoneware, in which business he continued until his supply of clay run out, when he was obliged to close his works. In 1854 he was elected Register and Recorder of this county and served two terms. Many years ago he was appointed Notary Public, which office he held at the time of his death. A family of nine children survive him, as follows: John H. and C. Harry, of this city; Horace, of Philadelphia; Mary, Ellen, Julia, Phoebe and Hattie, of this city, and Mrs. Alice Musser, wife of J. H. Musser, of Harrisburg. For a long series of years, Mr. Glazier was an elder in the Presbyterian church, and was an upright Christian gentleman, honored and respected by all who knew him. Like a sheaf of wheat ready for the harvest, he has been cut down and his spirit garnered in the storehouse of heaven. The Huntingdon Journal, Huntingdon, Pa., Friday, January 27, 1888
