Goodman died at his home in Mill Creek on Thursday November 7th from illness due principally to advanced age. Deceased was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Goodman, and was born in Henderson township almost 76 years ago. He was a veteran of the Civil war, having served in Company K, 22nd Pennsylvania cavalry under two enlistments. Mr. Goodman was well known in Mill Creek and surrounding community, and was a highly respected citizen, and one that will be greatly missed. He has been a consistent member of the Lutheran church of that place for the past forty years. He was a member of the George Simpson Post, G.A.R. No. 44 of Huntingdon. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Minnie, wife of William Souders; Mrs. Lydia Ream; Chester Goodman, of Juniata; Charles M. Goodman, a merchant in Mill Creek, and Rolla Goodman, at home. Deceased is the last of a family of six sons. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon by his pastor, Rev. E. N. Fry, with interment in the Mill Creek cemetery. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Thursday Morning, November 14, 1918
