Goshorn, 94, formerly of Blairs Mills, RD, died Friday, October 6, 2000 at the Shook Home, Chambersburg, Pa. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia with Rev. Alice Meloy officiating. Interment was at Salem Cemetery, Blairs Mills, RD. Born May 27, 1906 at Mattawanna, Mifflin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Newton and Mary (Walker) Nelson. She was united in marriage to Ira W. Goshorn on Sept. 22, 1945 at Middle Spring Presbyterian Church, Shippensburg, by the Rev. Andrew Warner. Mr. Goshorn preceded her in death Feb. 29, 19929. Mrs. Goshorn was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters: Walker Nelson, Jessie Nelson, Hilda N. Harper, Mary N. Myers and Esther N. Sherrer. She is survived by six nieces and four nephews. Mrs. Goshorn was a graduate of Mount Union High School and had attended Juniata College, Elizabeth College and the Pennsylvania State University. She was a school teacher in the lower Huntingdon County Schools for 20 years. She was also a member of the Huntingdon County Farm Women Group #3, and a former member of the Shirleysburg Grange. Although a member of the Orbisonia Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Goshorn had attended the Neelyton Pine Grove Presbyterian Church for most of her adult life.
