Brief mention was made in the Herald of the death of Wesley Gregory, brother-in-law of Mrs. A. B. Gillam, of Tyrone. Says the Huntingdon News: Mr. Gregory was a highly respected citizen of this county, died at his home near Manor Hill, Thursday. About ten days previous Mr. Gregory suffered from a hemorrhage but seemed to be recovering when death came suddenly. Deceased was born 67 years ago in West township. He married Miss Louisa Myton, sister of our townsman Albert Myton, and she with one son, Ralph, survives. In the Civil war he reached the rank of 2nd Sergeant, 27th Pennsylvania Volunteers, and took part in the repulse of the rebel forces under General Gordon at Columbia bridge, burning the structure behind them, thus preventing the confederates march on to Harrisburg. For many years he has been a farmer near Manor Hill. In the latter part of the 80's he served as county commissioner. His life was that of a Christian gentleman and for many years he belonged to the Methodist church. The funeral took place Sunday morning at Manor Hill, Revs. Walter G. Steel and P. P.
