Grubb Samuel Cunningham Grubb, 70, lifelong resident of Penn Township, died this Monday morning June 14, 1954 at 4:45 in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past two months. Born June 22, 1883, in Penn Township, he was a son of John and Nancy 9Cunningham) Grubb. He was married to Minnie Maud Garner in Harrisburg April 17, 1926 by the Rev. Aldo Cherry. Surviving are his wife and two sisters: Mrs. Jennie Miller, Huntingdon and Mrs. Carl Parks, RD 3. A brother and three sisters preceded him in death. He lived his entire life in Penn Township. In earlier life he was a U. S. mail carrier in charge of the Aitch Star Route. From 1926 to 1938 he was an employee of the Pennsylvania Industrial School. Since then he served as road supervisor for his township. The funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 in the James Creek Church of the Brethren, of which he had been a lifelong member. The pastor the Rev. Clyde Bush, and the Rev. Neal Rogers, pastor of the Hesston Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, will officiate and burial will be made in Valley View Cemetery. Friends may call at the Haverstock Memorial Home from noon Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday and at the church from 11 o'clock till hour of service. The Daily News, Huntingdon, June 14, 1954
