Earl Gunsallus, Warriors Mark RD, died Friday afternoon at his home after an extended illness. He was born February 20, 1890, at Karthaus, a son of Harry and Anna (Davis) Gunsallus. He was married February 23, 1911, at Tyrone, to Viola Dunlap. Surviving are the widow, two sons and two daughters: Joseph, of Pennsylvania Furnace; Glenn, of Marietta, Georgia; Mrs. Elwood (Mae)Beck, of York, Pa.; and Mrs. Cloyd (Verna) Williams, of Warriors Mark; also nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death. He was the last of his immediate family. He was a member of Centre Line United Methodist Church, and was a past trustee, Sunday School superintendent and teacher of his church. He retired from the Campus Patrol at Penn State University in 1955. Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark, in charge of the Reverend Byron L. Stroud. Burial will be in Burkett Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday and until the service on Monday. Tyrone Daily Herald, August 28, 1976, page 2
