Gurney, age 68, 4072 Spruce Creek Rd., Spruce Creek, Huntingdon County, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville after a lengthy illness. Born on July 8, 1937 in New Bedford, Mass., he was a son of the late Ralph and Anie (Hartley) Gurney. He was employed as an electronics engineer by NASA in California, retiring in 1988 (the national space agency). He was an active member of "Save Our Streams". Surviving are his wife, the former Dorothy H. Kamer; five step- children; nine grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 2 p.m. in Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Westerly Parkway, State College. No viewing. The family will receive friends at his home immediately following the memorial Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Family Kitchen, Tyrone.
