All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ________________________________________________ JOHN HOWARD HALL John Howard Hall of Huntingdon, R.D 1, well known Hartslog Valley farmer, passed away in the Altoona Hospital on Saturday, March 12, 1955, at 7:10 p.m. He had been a patient in the hospital for two months. The deceased was born in Huntingdon on July 7, 1892, a son of Jacob and Minnie (Zilius) Hall. He was united in marriage to Nora Kyper on October 22, 1913, the ceremony being performed at the Fifteenth Street United Methodist Church parsonage by the Rev. E McKelvey. He was a member of the Fifteenth Street United Methodist Church. He belonged to the Men's Bible Class of the Sunday School. He was a past master of Hartslog Valley Grange and a former member of the Porter Township-Juniata Valley School Board. He served as chief electrician at the Huntingdon Specialty Company, but for the past 28 years had been a farmer in Hartslog Valley. In addition to his wife he is survived by these children: Helen (Mrs. Kenneth Houck) and John H. Hall Jr., both of Alexandria, R.D., and Miss Martha E. Hall at home. Four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive along with these sisters and brothers: Mrs. Margaret Goodman, of Altoona; William M. Hall, Mrs. A. C. States, Mrs. Harry L. Minsker, Mrs. Elsie Kylor, Mrs. Cloyd Foster, all of Huntingdon; Mrs. L. A. Burris and Mrs. H. F. Doede, both of Harrisburg. Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Grove funeral home in Alexandria. The Rev. Rollin Taylor will officiate and interment will be made in the Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home until the hour for the service.
