HAMER Mrs. Rachel Amanda Hamer, aged resident of Warrior's Mark, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. David Patterson, at Warrior's Mark on Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock following a three days' illness with influenza. Mrs. Hamer was a daughter of Jesse and Anna Stine Hicks Whippo, and was born at Clarion, Pa., on May 31, 1853. On September 7, 1876, at State College she was united in marriage with John Hamer. She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. David Patterson, Warrior's Mark; Mrs. C. M. Kauffman, Juniata; Mrs. J. M. Irvin, Juniata; Mrs. Eugene F. Neff, Warrior's Mark; also 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was a member of the Warrior's Mark Methodist Episcopal church. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eugene F. Neff, Warrior's Mark, conducted by Reverend David Kerr, followed by burial in the Burket cemetery, Warrior's Mark. Tyrone Daily News, Tyrone, Pa., Wednesday, January 6, 1937
