HAMPTON Thomas C. Hampton of Aitch passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 1953, at 11:50 a.m. in Shirleysburg. He was born on February 8, 1879 at Nossville, a son of Lewis and Agnes (Mort) Hampton. He was united in marriage to Bessie Flood who preceded him in death 16 years ago. Surviving are two children, Mrs. Miles (Mabel) Norris of Huntingdon, R.D. 3 and Miss Amelia Hampton of Aitch. Two grandchildren also survive. In addition to these, the following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Ella Foreman of Riddlesburg; Mrs. Howard North and David Hampton, both of Burnt Cabins; Mrs. Goldie Bradnick of Shade Gap; Mrs. Annie Etter of Chambersburg; Mrs. Minnie Heffner and Alfred Hampton, both of Waynesboro; Mrs. Margaret Briggs of Orbisonia; James Hampton of Martinsburg; Sam Hampton of Perulack and Newton Hampton of Altoona. The deceased was a member of the Salem Church of Tell Township. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, at 2:30 p.m. in the Salem E.U.B. church with the Rev. Anson Slick of Shade Gap assisted by the Rev. Charles Wisler of Williamsburg officiating. Interment will be made in the Salem Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hampton home from Thursday evening until noon Saturday.
