Mr. William Hare, a well-known citizen of Williamsburg, Blair County, died at his residence on Saturday, October 15. He was born in Huntingdon County, January 9, 1813, and was aged 69 years, 9 months and 6 days. His death, which was sudden; and occurred shortly after retiring to bed was caused by paralysis of the heart. He united with the Lutheran church at Allenville, Mifflin county, under the ministry of Rev. Mr. Lepley. After that he removed to Mechanicsville, in the same county, where he first engaged in the Sabbath school work. From that time to the day of his death he remained an ardent friend of the S. S. cause. He had been either a deacon or an elder in the church nearly all the time of his membership. He was a man of good judgment, earnest in his religions worth, Christian duty. Having lived the Christian's life, he died the Christian's death.
