Jefferson St., Mount Union, died at 2:00 noon on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at the Lewistown Hospital. She had been in failing health. A Mass of Christian Burial was held March 2 at St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Mount Union, with Fr. Elwood Figurelle Officiating. Interment was made in Et. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery, Shirleysburg. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Robert D. Heath funeral Home, Mount Union. Born April 2, 1920, in Mount Union, she was the daughter of the Fate Wasyl and Mary (Potochniak) Kosack. She was united in marriage to Michael M. Hayduk on Aug. 23, 941, at the St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Mount Union. Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1997. Surviving are the following children: Michael J. Hayduk of Greer, S.C., Mrs. Bob (Patricia) Moore of Alta Monte Springs, Fla., Mrs. Terry (Rebecca) Stoner of Altoona, Mrs. Steve (Bernadette) Kroecker of Titusville, Fla., and Mrs. Bryan (Mary) Pollock of RD 1 McVeytown. There are 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two sisters surviving, Mrs. Kathryn Meloni of Lewistown and Mrs. Ross (Julia) Madden of Mount Union. She was preceded in death by a grandson and the following brothers and sister: Anna Abrashoff, John "Cutty" Kosack, Wasyl "Sake" Kosack and Metro J. Kosack. Mrs. Hayduk owned and operated, with her husband, Hayduk's Bar and Grill, Mount Union, for 25 years, until their retirement in 1984. She was a member of St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Mount Union; and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo.
