Heffner, 80, of 11035 Jackelyn's Drive, Huntingdon, died at 6:22 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at her home. Born July 25, 1927, in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late Edgar L. and Marie E. (Gill) Grove. She was united in marriage to Richard C. McKinney Aug. 1, 1948. Mr. McKinney preceded her in death April 15, 1955. She later married Jack L. Heffner Jan. 9, 1959. Mr. Heffner preceded her in death Dec. 26, 2003. Mrs. Heffner is survived by 10 children, Daniel C. McKinney and wife, Pat, Hesston; David J. Heffner and wife, Kathy, Portland Ore.; Linda M. Taylor and husband, Bill, and Jackie C. Alexander, all of Alexandria; Dale R. McKinney and wife, Michelle, Eustis, Fla.; Dixie L. McGeary and husband, Ed, and Carla J. Irvin and husband, Mike, all of Petersburg; Karen L. Strayer and husband, Leroy, Teressa M. Habbershon and husband, Ed, and Debra A. Love, all of Huntingdon; 28 grandchildren, 44 great- grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother and sister, Fred P. Grove and M. Jane Bumbarger, both of Huntingdon. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl F. Grove Sr. Mrs. Heffner was a very active member of the McConnellstown First Church of the Nazarene, where she served on the board and as a Sunday school teacher. Primarily a homemaker, she had also worked at McCrory's and Kunz's Bookbindery, both of Huntingdon, at one time. Mrs. Heffner enjoyed camping and sewing and helping her daughter at her business, Dixie's Alterations, Smithfield. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with Pastor Greg Lesniewski officiating. Interment will be made in the White Church Cemetery, Hesston. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday, and from 9 a.m. Sunday until the hour of services.
