Mrs. Rebecca Gibson Wilson Henkle, died at her home near Garrison, Iowa, on November 6, after an illness of but a few weeks. Deceased was the daughter of Samuel and Mary Wilson, both deceased, and was born in Huntingdon county on May 6, 1854. She went west in 1869 and on March 23, 1876, was married to Henry S. Henkle. They took up residence on a farm near Garrison, Iowa, and there they had resided for many years. They had planned to retire from the farm when Mrs. Henkle was taken ill and grew gradually worse until she passed away. She was a devout Christian, and took an active interest in the work of the Garrison Methodist Episcopal church, of which she was a member. She was held in high esteem and respect in the community in which she had resided for many years. She is survived by her husband and two sons. She is also survives by these brothers and sisters, Mrs. C. W. Miller and Ira D. Wilson, of Vinton, Iowa; James E. Wilson, of Massena, Iowa, John M., of Altoona; Mrs. Jane Stevens of Ginter, Pa.; Mrs. Julia Henderson, of Warrior's Mark and Mrs. Evaline Hammond, Petersburg. Internment was made at Garrison.
