All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm _______________________________________________ EDWARDA "JIMMY" HESS Edwarda "Jimmy" Hess, 81, a resident of the Oaks at Westminster Woods, 360 Westminster Drive, Huntingdon and formerly residing for 50 years at 1731 Mifflin Street, Huntingdon died July 31, 2007 at 6:27 p.m. at the Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon. She was born in Tyrone on January 23, 1926, the daughter of Frank Clark Skelly and Edwarda (Collin) Skelly who both preceded her in death. She married Charles Bruce Hess in Mackeyville, Pa. on March 18, 1949. He preceded in her death on February 3, 1988. She is survived by two sons and two daughters: Mary Catharine Hess of Graham, NC; John B. Hess and his wife, Ann (Mark) of Altoona; Barbara (Hess) Zanylo and her husband, Frank M. of Oneida Township, Huntingdon and David S. Hess and his wife, Christine (Eby) of Hollidaysburg. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Amy (Hess) Cignetti and her husband Scott of Pittsburgh; John Michael Hess of Camp Hill; Kelly Marie Zanylo and Hillary Jane Zanylo of Oneida Township, Huntingdon; Samuel Christopher Hess and Andrew David Hess of Hollidaysburg. She is survived by three brothers: David Collin Skelly and his wife Marilyn of Pittsburgh; John Carothers Skelly and his wife Gertrude of Lancaster and Robert Cameron Skelly and his wife Louise of Mechanicsburg and a sister-in-law, Carolyn (Hess) Frye of Sebring, Fl. She was preceded in death by one brother, William C. Skelly. Mrs. Hess was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren, Huntingdon. She was formerly active in Girl Scouting and was a member of the Juniata College Alumni Association. She attended the Tyrone public schools and graduated from Tyrone High School with the Class of 1944. She graduated from Juniata College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics with the Class of 1948. She was employed as a Home Economics teacher at Bellefonte High School from 1948 until 1949. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, sewing, playing the piano and was a local award-winning photographer. Friends may call at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, 417 Washington Street, Huntingdon from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2007 and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on Friday, August 3, 2007. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Richard Landrum officiating, assisted by the Reverend Kim Witkovsky. Interment at Riverview Cemetery, 245 Standing Stone Avenue, Huntingdon. Memorial contributions in remembrance of Mrs. Hess are requested for the Stone Church of the Brethren, 1701 Moore Street, Huntingdon, Pa. 16652. Services are under the direction of the John B.
