Ralph G. Hess, of Marklesburg, R. D., died on Wednesday, January 10, 1940. 
His death was due to lobar pneumonia.  A son of W. Grant Hess and Elizabeth 
(Collins) Hess, he was born in Lincoln township, Huntingdon county, on May 2, 1904. 
At the time of death, he was aged 35 years, eight months and eight days. He was married 
to Florence M. Gahagan on December 26, 1925, at Currysville, Blair county.  
He is survived by his wife, his mother and three children: Mabel Eleanor, Ralph Mearl 
and Martha Susanne Hess. One brother, E.M. Hess, of Coalport, also survives.  
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 o'clock at the residence of his mother, 
Mrs. Elizabeth Hess, with the Rev. Jerome Guss officiating. Robert E. Huff's Funeral 
Service will have charge of the interment in the Stone Church Cemetery, near Marklesburg.
