PORTER HEWETT

  Porter Hewett, a son of William and Alice Hewett, died at his home in 
Petersburg on Wednesday, Oct. 9th, at 3 p.m. from the effects of 
Spanish influenza and pneumonia.  He was aged 15 years, 4 months and 22 
days.  He was a student in the Petersburg High school and a member of 
the Methodist church of that town.  He is survived by his parents, one 
brother, Raymond Hewett, in the U.S. service in France, and one sister, 
Mrs. Thelma Gates.  The funeral was conducted on Saturday, Oct. 12th by 
the Rev. J. M. Williams, with interment in the Petersburg cemetery.
